SSS MATERNITY BENEFITS

Question

Hi! Currently employed and on my first trimester po. Tomorrow, magsa-submit na ako sa HR ng required attachments sa  SSS MAT-1 (Maternity Notification) Form. In addition to the MAT-1 form, binigyan din po ako ng Allocation of Maternity Leave Credits Form.Questions:1. In case i-allocate ko sa father yung 7 days ng maternity leave ko, aside sa mababawasan po yung 105 days matleave ko, may effect po kaya siya sa amount of maternity benefit na mare-receive ko?2. Same lang po ba yung Paternity Leave sa Allocation of Maternity Leave Credits?3. Hindi po affected ang maternity benefit amount mo kahit mag-allocate ka ng 7 days sa father, yun lang ay para sa leave credits, ang benefits ay based sa actual days you're entitled to as the mother, so you'll still get the full amount! Paternity leave at maternity leave allocation ay different, paternity is for fathers separately, so yung allocation form is purely about transferring your leave days to him, not the same thing. Honestly, most of my mum friends who've gone through this recommend taking your full 105 days and then letting the father use paternity leave on top if needed, kasi that way you have the maximum time to recover and bond with baby, at hindi mo pagsisisihan na mabilis maubos ang rest mo. Plus, the financial benefit you get is based on your contribution, so it won't change whether nag-allocate ka or not. Congrats on your first baby, mamshie!
