The Philippines is now polio-free

Celebrate good times, come on (Let's celebrate) 🎶 Celebrate good times, come on (Let's celebrate)🎵 In this trying time, small and big victories must be lauded and celebrated. And just in, WHO and DOH officially announced that the polio outbreak in our country is over. Hooray for that! 🎉🥳 It can be recalled that there was an upturn of polio in our country last Sept 2019. And because of comprehensive outbreak response actions including intensified immunization and surveillance activities in affected areas of the country, after two decades, finally, the Philippines is now polio-free! 👍🏼 This only shows the importance of vaccination. Vaccines save lives. It is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself from getting the disease. Not only it protects our kids from getting sick but it also protect other people in our community, by helping to stop diseases spreading to people who cannot have vaccines.
