ENFAMIL OR SIMILAC?!

My baby is currently half breastfed and half formula-fed (S-26). But the past two nights she’s been crying non-stop — seems like constipation. My nanny thinks it could be the S-26. Do you think Enfamil or Similac is better?

Oh, I hear you, that crying sounds really tough! So from what mums around me have shared, both Enfamil and Similac can work well for constipation, but it really depends on your baby. Some swear by Similac Total Comfort because it's gentler on digestion, though a few have actually found Similac caused constipation for their little ones, so it's not a sure thing. Others have had better luck with Enfamil Gentlease, it's designed to be easier on the stomach and seems to help a number of babies poop more regularly. One thing several mums mentioned is that alongside whichever formula you pick, adding things like probiotic drops, fruit purée, and even gentle bicycle exercises can really make a difference too. That said, since your baby's only been on S-26 and the constipation just started, it could be worth discussing with your doctor or a lactation consultant to rule out other causes, sometimes a formula switch helps, sometimes it's just a phase, and they'll know your baby's history best. Wishing her (and you!) some relief soon!
