At what age were your kids able to bathe by themselves?

My sons started bathing by themselves at the age of 5. I would still stand and check that they were cleaning themselves thoroughly, though! HAHA. I was a bit afraid of soap getting into their eyes etc... typical mum behaviour. At the age of 6, I gave them total freedom to be independent about showering by themselves.
