Aww mama, that sounds really miserable 🥺 The 1st tri can be so rough, and while everyone talks about nausea, things like excess phlegm, a constantly dry mouth, and gagging when you try to clear your throat are actually something some pregnant women experience too. Hormonal changes can increase mucus production, and pregnancy can also make reflux more common, which can irritate the throat.
The dry mouth could also be a sign that you're not getting enough fluids, especially if you're not eating or drinking much because of the nausea. Try taking small sips of water often, sucking on ice chips if that's easier, and eating little bits whenever you can rather than forcing big meals.
If you're finding it hard to keep fluids down, you're peeing very little, or the dehydration feels like it's getting worse, do let your doctor know sooner rather than later. They can help with safe treatments for nausea and make sure you're staying well hydrated.
Hang in there ❤️ For many moms, these symptoms start to ease as they move into the second trimester. I hope you start feeling more like yourself soon.
