Any good step-by-step guides on how to childproof your house for a toddler?

I didn't exactly childproof my house when my daughter started being mobile. Her play area was kept at the minimum, only her playmat and box of toys was within reach. Other than coffee tables with corner edges, I didn't do much. Of course, fix your windows with grills and never allow your child into the kitchen unsupervised. Like Jamie, I think the best child proofing is educating your little one what she can or cannot do and why. Kids are curious little beings so even if you childproof your place, she's going to figure out how to overcome that barrier soon enough. Here's an article that I find useful. http://www.babycenter.com/0_childproofing-around-the-house_460.bc

I found a good guide on how to childproof your home here: http://sg.theasianparent.com/how-to-childproof-your-home/ You'll need a safety gate, grippers, latches and corner bumpers. Some can be purchased from IKEA. You can also get covers for electrical sockets because babies like sticking their tiny fingers into electrical power points. If your kitchen doesn't come with a door, you'll need to measure the kitchen entrance and see if you require an extension for the safety gate. Actually, it's a lot easier to childproof our baby by constantly repeating and teaching them what to touch and not to touch.
