Vaginal varicosities (varicose veins in the vulva) – these are quite common in pregnancy, especially for first-timers who haven’t experienced this before. They can appear suddenly, look bluish or swollen, and may feel soft or bulging. They usually aren’t painful but can feel heavy or uncomfortable. Cysts (like Bartholin’s gland cyst) – painless swellings that you can suddenly feel, often near the vaginal opening. Prolapse (mild bulging of vaginal wall) – sometimes tissue seems to protrude because of pressure, especially later in pregnancy.
