Aw mama, 38 weeks 6 days is actually still within normal range, baby can come anytime from 37 weeks onwards, so hindi ka na that far from due date! But I'd really suggest checking with your OB just to be sure everything is okay and to confirm kung exact na position ng baby, kasi sometimes what feels "mababa" ay actually just how baby is sitting. A few of us moms worried about the same thing at that point, pero lahat naman okay naman in the end, the doctor can give you peace of mind better than anyone, especially since this is your first!
