Fetal movements/patterns

Hi! Am 30 weeks plus today. Have been told by gynaes that I shld alrdy know my baby pattern so that I can look out for reduced movement but I CANT TELL baby pattern and it's freaking me out everyday. There can be days where baby moves every minute. Like I can have 30 kick count in an hour, for hours. And then on other days, just maybe 1 - 2 kicks in 5 hours, and I won't be able to meet my 10 kick counts in an hour. It's so confusing because I'm confused with quiet days and reduced movements and it's really scaring me. Anyone else gave the same issue? What do you all suggest? Cold drinks and sweet stuff don't really work for me too.

I totally understand the anxiety, because honestly the kick count thing can feel really stressful when you're trying to figure out what's "normal" for your baby. What I've found helpful is that babies do have genuinely quiet days and active days, especially at this stage, so some variation is normal, but the key is whether there's a sudden change from what YOUR baby usually does rather than hitting a magic number every single day. Since you're noticing such a big swing between 30 kicks in an hour and just 1-2 in 5 hours, it might be good to bring this up with your gynae at your next visit or give the clinic a call if you're worried, just so they can listen to your concerns and maybe give you more personalised guidance based on your baby's pattern rather than generic kick counts. The anxiety itself isn't helping either, so getting reassurance from your doctor might ease things for you.

I’ve never really counted my baby kicks because whenever I go in zen mode, my baby goes in zen mode too… She only moves when I am busy or weird timings like 2-3am she’ll start to party inside. Same as us, there are lazy days where we don’t wanna move at all. But if thru out the day I feel at least movements/kicks from her I’m good. Baby is full term and healthy.
