Backaches at 28 wks

Anyone experiencing very bad backaches and tiredness now that you're entering 3rd tri.

I guess with the baby constantly shifting around adds up to the backaches haha.

Help! Parents Argument Solution

My pregnant wife and I had a heated argument last month. Since then, she stops talking and keeps ignoring me till now. I did ask her politely if she is free to talk to me or even for help. She shook her head and ignored me. What should I do?

I think you should give her space, at the same time still do things for her to show that you care. She's probably just conserving all her energy on her baby. But just make sure the silence doesn't drag over 2 weeks, it's very unhealthy

OGTT GLUCOSE TEST

Any mama's failed their OGTT? Whats the next cause of action. I failed by a little and apointment is only set next week. What should I do at the moment and what will happen next? I didnt expect to fail

I failed mine too, so I know that sinking feeling! The good news is a slight fail doesn't mean you have gestational diabetes for sure, sometimes it's just that one test result, and they'll do a longer test next week to confirm. In the meantime, just eat normally but try to keep your meals balanced with protein and fibre, avoid sugary drinks, and don't stress yourself out too much because that won't help either. Next week they'll likely do a 3-hour glucose tolerance test at the hospital or polyclinic, and if that comes back normal you're good to go. If it does come back with GD, your doctor will refer you to a dietitian and you'll manage it with diet first, sometimes insulin if needed, but plenty of mums go through this and deliver healthy babies. Try not to worry until you have the full picture next week.

Prenatal multivitamins and folate

First pregnancy Doctor prescribed me the 21st century prenatal vitamins that already contain folic acid. Do i still continue eating the folic acid that i have been eating? Or should i stop?

yes agree. check the dosage because too much can cause issues too. my gynae told me to stop folic acid because the multivits alr have enough.

Sharp right pelvic pain at week 26

Hi mums, I’m having sharp right pelvic pain at week 26 every step I walk.. is this normal? When I sleep at night with pillow in between my legs, I still feel dull aching, it’s uncomfortable… morning is usually ok.. however as I progress through the day it usually get worst. Especially when I’m desk bound. How can I relief the pain? I can’t imagine going through 3 more months of pain..

There are videos on YouTube that have simple exercises to alleviate pelvic pain. Try look up SPD and see if those help!

EDD Nov 2026 - any group chat for fathers?

My baby EDD is this November 2026. I am not sure if it is too early to create group chat but let me know the link.

It's never too early to start connecting with other dads lah, especially since you've got a few months to go and the support during pregnancy and after delivery really helps. You might want to check if there are existing November 2026 birth month groups already on AsianParent, or even start one yourself if there isn't, since by now there should be quite a few dads with the same EDD looking to connect. I'd say just post in the main forums asking if anyone else is expecting around the same time and keen to join a chat, and things tend to grow from there quite organically.

18 weeks and starting to vomit

Just hit 18 weeks and started to feel pukey and having trouble keeping food down. Is this normal? It happens during the day but especially bad in the night. Vomiting almost every night before bed.

This one better see a doctor soon, even though some nausea can linger into the second trimester for some mums. Vomiting almost every night and trouble keeping food down needs checking out because your body needs the nutrients, and the doctor can rule out anything else and help you feel better. Don't wait on this one, please make an appointment with your gynae or go to A&E if you're feeling really unwell.

Hi mummies what week do you feel baby kicking, I'm at 19 weeks, yet to feel anything

Week 19 is too early! If you feel something like bubbles popping, that’s your baby’s kick! You can feel it around week 24/25? The kick will be more obvious when the space is much lesser for your baby. Right now your baby got a lot of spaces in your womb that’s why you can’t feel the kick even when your baby is moving.

SG delivery hospital

Anyone delivered your baby in Parkway East Hospital recently or planning to this year? Would love to have some reviews on it!

My friend delivered her second one at Parkway East last year and she was really happy with the experience, especially the ward setup and the nursing staff were attentive. The only thing is it's a bit pricey compared to KKH or private wings at other hospitals, but if you're looking at private delivery with good facilities and personalised care, she said it's worth considering. Have you checked what their package rates are and whether your insurance covers it.

Did your medication or insulin’s dosage change as your pregnancy progressed?

This one really needs your doctor's close eye, especially since medication changes in pregnancy can affect baby and mum. Every pregnancy is different, so it's important to have your endocrinologist or OB follow your levels regularly and adjust things as needed. Please make sure you're seeing your doctor regularly for this - they'll monitor your blood sugar trends and adjust your medication or insulin doses as your pregnancy changes.
