How much are enough ?

The key thing my friend's lawyer stressed was document everything you're already paying, CC limit, savings contribution, weekend outings, all count, so don't let it look like you paying nothing even though you clearly trying your best. One auntie in my group also said spousal maintenance (for wife herself) is separate from child maintenance, and Court will consider if wife can work or not, if she's able-bodied, judge may give lower or even nominal spousal support. Honestly lah, with your income and expenses so tight already, I'd say go consult a Legal Aid Bureau lawyer (very affordable) before agreeing to any number, because some guys my friend knows agreed to too high amount then struggle every month, better fix a realistic figure properly from the start.
