Wah brother, you working 18 hours a day already sibeh jialat, must be very stressed now. My friend's husband went through divorce last year and his lawyer told him the Court looks at both parents' income combined to split child costs proportionally, so if wife not working or earning less, your share will be higher lah. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned the Family Court generally expects father to cover things like milk powder, childcare, medical, school fees for the kids, so maybe budget $600, $800 per child as a rough starting point depending on actual expenses, but the 6-month baby's costs higher. The key thing my friend's lawyer stressed was document everything you're already paying, CC limit, savings contribution, weekend outings, all count, so don't let it look like you paying nothing even though you clearly trying your best. One auntie in my group also said spousal maintenance (for wife herself) is separate from child maintenance, and Court will consider if wife can work or not, if she's able-bodied, judge may give lower or even nominal spousal support. Honestly lah, with your income and expenses so tight already, I'd say go consult a Legal Aid Bureau lawyer (very affordable) before agreeing to any number, because some guys my friend knows agreed to too high amount then struggle every month, better fix a realistic figure properly from the start.
