That's actually pretty normal for a newborn lah, especially in the first week or two. My son was the same way and it's usually because babies have a strong gastrocolic reflex, meaning their digestive system automatically kicks in when milk enters the stomach. As long as he's feeding well, gaining weight, and the poop looks normal (yellowish, seedy texture), you're likely doing fine. That said, at 5 days old it might be good to check in with your PD or KKH just to make sure he's latching properly and getting enough milk, just to be safe.

At 5 days old, this is actually quite normal lah, newborns often poop right after feeds because the act of eating triggers their gut reflex, so don't worry too much about it. That said, might be good to check with your PD or at the polyclinic just to make sure he's feeding well and gaining weight properly, since those are the things that really matter at this stage. As long as he's having wet nappies, seems content between feeds, and is pooping the normal colour and consistency, he's likely doing fine.

This is okay as long as baby’s poop is normal. Not the diarrhoea kind. My baby can even poop when eating too.
