Ah, so true! My kids also sikit-sikit tak nak write kalau rasa it's too formal or boring, right? The trick is let them write how they talk first, their own voice, their own style, and then boleh slowly guide them improve grammar and structure. A few of us mum friends, we just let our kids write freely in journals or stories about their pets, their friends, whatever mereka excited about, and that's when they actually maintain the momentum to keep writing. Once they feel that 'wow, my story is actually good and people want to read it', baru they're willing to learn the proper way to structure it. So don't rush the 'rules' part la, let the passion come first!
