What is the first 1,000 days?
What is 'the first 1,000 days'? The first 1,000 days refers to a child's life from the moment they are conceived until they have reached 2 years of age (24 months). This is a time when their brain, body and immune system grows and develops significantly. This is a unique period of opportunity when the foundations for optimum health and development across the lifespan are established. Our childs early experiences shape the structure of their developing organs. The basis of lifelong health, wellbeing and productivity is established during the first 1,000 days of our lives. Breastfeeding is a big factor in our child's development so we, as a mother/parent our job was to give them the right nutrition they needed. I chose to, eventhough I struggled so much in this journey. There was a time when I had mastitis and even poor milk supply but it was never a reason to stop me instead made me realize the importance of BREASTFEEDING with my children. It needs dedication and support system from our environment. Aside from proper nutrition they need to be vaccinated in order for them to help in fighting diseases. Lastly, give them all the love that we could give no matter how hard our lives may be. Having a child/children was never easy but every parent's treasure that no one could ever steal. Enjoy every seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years then one day they are not our baby anymore instead will be having their own child. Salute to all the moms out here whether a breastfeeding or not, you are doing a great job. What's your breastfeeding journey wonder momma? I would love to read it in our comment section.
