As a toddler momma

Things I've learned as a toddler mom: Tantrums: Kids tantrums is always around the corner, I have learned that as a Parent you should not give in to your toddler's cry when he wants something that is against your house rules. In our case, as much as possible we want our day screen free so I dont tolerate his tantrums whenever he wants to watch. Remember that you need to be firm as a parent . Screen time: I know this is not applicable to everyone espcially to those who are working. I prefer to totally remove screen time. We started screen time when he turns 20mos I guess but after 1 or 2 mos we decided to take it a way from our toddler. Reasons why: Lack of patience, disconnecting to the real world, loss of appetite and poor management of emotions. After making it screen free, our toddler enjoys and appreaciate his toys. He was able manage his emotions than before. More time for crafts and home activities, and be more patient. We also make sure that his meal time is screen free, it makes him appreciative to the food we serve and is able to behave well when eating even when we are out. These experience/tips is not to bragg. But to inspire other mommies out there that you are a big part of their growth and development. You just need to have a lot of patience, love and to be open to learn everyday. ❤️

Wow, sobrang respeto ko sa commitment mo sa screen-free parenting, that takes real consistency, especially when it's so easy to just turn on a tablet! Your observation about the patience and emotional regulation improvements talaga matches what a few of us tried din; one of my mum friends removed screens for similar reasons and noticed her toddler actually engaged better with toys instead of just zoning out. The meal time thing is chef's kiss because it really does make a difference sa table manners and how they appreciate food. Hindi ito bragging at all, these are legit strategies na nakita mo mismo sa behavior changes ng baby mo, at alam namin lahat how hard it is to stand firm during tantrums! Thank you for sharing this, because honestly maraming mommies feel pressured to give screens na parang it's the only way, kaya ang galing na may examples like yours na nagpapatunay it's possible.
