Journey of Having a Baby with Anencephaly

Our second baby was diagnosed with anencephaly during her 4th month. It was a tough journey but our love for her grew stronger. She was now beside God. She is a 33-weeker baby. She made it easy for us especially for me because I was able to deliver her normally even though her Kuya was previously CS. She is an angel, truly. She survived for 1 and a half hour. I was crying when I entered the ward because I heard a baby's cry. I am going home tomorrow but I will not be able to take care of her. #anencephaly

Oh mama, ang puso ko ay sumama sa iyo habang binabasa ang iyong kwento. What an incredibly brave journey you've been through, and what a beautiful gift na naramdaman mo ang kanyang presence, even for just those precious moments. Ang 1.5 hours na iyon ay puno ng pag-ibig mo para sa kanya, yan ang mahalaga. I can only imagine how hard it is na mag-go home bukas without her in your arms, but please know na you did everything with so much love. A few of us mums in the community have walked similar heartbreaking paths, and we're always here if you need to talk, cry, or just sit with someone who gets it. Your baby girl will always be part of your family's story, at that's something so sacred. Lean on your Kuya's kuya din, your partner, your family, your faith, and the people around you na nag-care. Alam namin na hindi madali, pero hindi ka mag-iisa dito.
