Wife used both medela and spectra...her review: 1) Medela freestyle Good: softer on mummy’s breast/ quality pump/ Long lasting battery after 1 charge/ can memorise pump Bad: a lot of parts to wash and replace/ heavier/ pump may not help engorged breast/ expensive 2)Spectra S9 Good: small and light/ simple and easy to use/ less parts to wash &replace/ can help engorged breast- suction better/ cheap & convenient Bad: battery sucks (Cos battery small need to keep charging)/ need support bra/ hard on mummy’s breast Overall conclusion: My Wife used spectra in office as it’s convenient and medela at home...as she had both sets as hand me down. For us, spectra is better as it’s light and convenient while we go out, cheaper choice (as we don’t believe in splurging), and helped serve the purpose. Most importantly, it has less parts to wash or replace.
