Question

Is it possible to conduct occupational therapy for normal kids/toddlers?? Kc pinag ttherapy ang 2 years old ko, hindi pa daw kc ma sure ni dev. Ped. Yung anak ko..may mga nakikita syang red flags pero hindi pa daw sya sure like may eye contact pero bago mo sya ma tawag sa name nya while hes nag pplay sya eh naka ilang tawag..tapos tatawa sya kung baga nahihiya sya lumapit kay dev. Ped. Ganon..pinag pplay school din cya for socialization although ang concern ko lang naman kasi talaga eh hindi pa sya marunong makipag conversational.. #pleasehelp #advicepls #firstbaby #firsttimemom

Oo, possible talaga, kaya okay na mag-start ng OT kahit walang formal diagnosis pa, maraming kids na nag-benefit even without a clear label, at least may professional guidance na para sa development nila. One of my mum friends did the same thing with her toddler kasi delayed speech din, at sabi ng OT therapist namin, mas better magstart early kaysa maghintay, kaya go lang with the therapy! The name-calling thing at delayed speech could use proper assessment though, so maybe push your pedia for a referral to a developmental pediatrician or speech therapist din, para may clearer picture, sometimes the pedia na nag-doubt ay okay lang, kailangan mo ng specialist. Preschool for socialization is great too, pero the conversation skills... that's something the speech therapist talaga ang best makakatulong. Hang in there, first-time mom struggles talaga, pero you're doing the right thing by not waiting around.
