This is the recipe that I use whenever we cook mechado at home. Sautee red onion followed by minced garlic. Once golden brown, put the beef (mechado cut - small cube or sometimes strips) in and stir. Once the beef starts to look like "sankutsado", add water and let it boil. Once the beef is tender, add the tomato sauce and paste. Add patis, pepper and bayleaf. Lastly, add fried potatoes and carrots. Best serve with hot rice!
