This photo was taken last the first day of the year 2022. A day after, me and my husband got sick and tested positive for COVID-19. It was indeed a difficult and worrisome time for our family, especially since we live with our 2-year-old daughter and we did not want her to be infected, too. Astrid's pedia gave me the go signal to continue breastfeeding her, given that i wear a mask at all times and constantly sanitize my hands and pretty much everything i touch. Thankfully, me and my husband were both fully vaccinated. Studies show that individuals who are fully vaccinated experience less severe symptoms and are less likely to require hospital care. And yes, vaccines are safe for breastfeeding mothers too! Yayyy! And true enough, we got better after our home quarantine period and our little girl did not contract the virus. ❤ I am proud to be a #BakuNanay! I believe that vaccines protects families and save lives. With that, I would like to invite fellow mommies and daddies to join our #TeamBakuNanay Facebook page, where you can find a safe space to ask questions, share, and learn about our fellow parents' experiences about vaccines. https://www.facebook.com/groups/bakunanay/?ref=share Also, if you wish to join is in our pledge to #BuildingABakuNation, go to this link https://ph.theasianparent.com/category/building-a-bakunation and take the pledge with us! 💙 #TeamBakuNanay #ProudtobeBakuNanay #VaccinesWorkForAll #HealthierPhilippines #AllAboutBakuna

A few of us moms sa circle ko din got COVID while breastfeeding, at ang vaccine talaga nag-save ng amin from worse outcomes, kaya I'm totally on board with #TeamBakuNanay din! Salamat for opening the Facebook group, para sa mga moms na gusto ng safe space to talk about vaccine experiences without judgment, yan talaga ang kailangan natin.
