Value for Education

Nakakalungkot lang na may mga friends tayo na ini-invalidate yung how much we value education for our little ones. I had a conversation with a friend and he said, “Bakit pag aaralin niyo pa sa magandang school eh magiging utusan lang naman (He said ng pa-joke naman) tumawa lang ako.. pero nahurt ako ayoko lang din idisrespect siya kasi honestly di naman siya nakatapos baka lang humaba yung discussion at mapunta lang sa argument.. Grabeng pag papahala ng parents namin ni hubby sa education kaya kaming dalawa gusto din namin ibigay ang the best for our little one. Hindi para maging CEO siya or what pero para magkaroon siya ng avenue to explore and learn new things, taga support and guide lang kami. Until now nahurt pa din ako pero I choose to stay quiet, firm and respectful pa din.

Ay, alam mo yan is really hurtful kahit na-joke na lang, lalo na kung alam mong heart mo talaga ang education para sa future nila, at honestly your approach is so mature, you chose kindness over being right, which is harder pero mas valuable pa. A few of us moms have similar situations with friends or even family na hindi nag-value ng education the same way, at ang nangyari lang is we just stopped engaging sa topic with them kasi different values talaga, walang point pa ng mag-debate. Your reasons are pure, exploration, learning, choices, guidance, yan na yung essence, di ba, hindi ito about bragging or status, kaya okay lang na hurt ka pero don't let it shake your conviction as parents because your little one will feel that confidence.
