Hi mommy, this is what I do to wean off my 18 months old LO. I drop one feeding every few days (or even longer, and replacing with cow's/formula milk. This can be easier because it's not such an abrupt change for the child, and it allows for a mother's milk supply to decrease gradually. I use cup and straw for my LO instead of milk bottles to save the trouble of again weaning from bottles. If he usually need to latch to sleep, get your hubby or others to put him to bed when he/she is sleepy, by patting or carrying whichever works. Lastly, you have to be patient, slowly but surely you will succeed.

Hi mommy, I just want to ask, why do you want to stop direct latch? I am also a SAHM on an 15 month old boy and we still direct latch. It is very convenient for me to do this instead of giving him formula, clean bottles, etc.

Replace with infant formula and a pacifier
