do nipple shields really help?

I really feel you on this, being a first time mum and figuring out breastfeeding is honestly so overwhelming. My girl had a lot of trouble latching in the early days and the nipple shield was a lifesaver for us at the start, it helped her get a better grip and made feeds so much less painful for me. I would say it really depends on your situation though, so if you can, do check with a lactation consultant at the hospital or even your polyclinic before buying one, because getting the right size matters a lot.
