Sugar waxing at 37 weeks
Hi mummies, I went for sugar waxing appt 3 days ago and developed pimple-like white pus. Very sensitive and uncomfortable. Is this normal and how long will it go away? Anything that I can apply? It’s so sensitive that I can’t wear any sanitary pad due to abrasion #advicepls

Oh no, that sounds really uncomfortable especially at 37 weeks when everything down there is already so sensitive! Someone in my mum group mentioned that skin in the third trimester reacts much more strongly to waxing because pregnancy hormones make everything more inflamed and prone to those pustules, so what you're experiencing is unfortunately not that rare, though it doesn't make it any less miserable. Honestly, a light antiseptic lotion (something gentle like Savlon or a diluted tea tree option) applied carefully can help calm the irritation and reduce the risk of the pus spots getting worse, but I'd be cautious about putting anything too strong on broken skin so close to delivery. What worked for some mums I know didn't work for others, a few said the pustules cleared in about 3 to 5 days with gentle cleansing and loose cotton underwear, but one mum I know had hers linger closer to a week and a half because she kept irritating the area. Do please check with your gynae or a doctor before applying anything, especially at 37 weeks, better to get proper advice since you're so close to your due date and infection is the last thing you want to deal with right now.
Read moreHi mum, I had something similar before after waxing also and those white pus bumps can sometimes be folliculitis or irritation from hair follicles getting inflamed, especially during pregnancy when skin is more sensitive. It can feel quite sore and uncomfortable for a few days. I would usually just keep the area clean, avoid further waxing or shaving, and wear loose breathable cotton underwear to reduce friction. Since you are 37 weeks pregnant and it sounds quite painful, I think it’s safer to let your gynae or a doctor take a look just to make sure it’s not infected and you get the right cream if needed.
