Is it too much of a supplement for an 18 months old?

Hi mummies. May I ask for your opinions? My son has always been sick. When I said always, I mean, all the time. Our trips to the doctor are so frequent that one time, the nurses and doctor asked, 'is you again?' 'what this time?' 🥺 his sickness is always cough, flu, fever, diarrhea and recently, he was admitted to the hospital due to pneumonia and influenza A (he was already vaccinated for both of these). All along, he has been on prebiotic and probiotics daily. Recently, a pharmacist friend recommended tiger milk mushroom and elderberry (with vit C and zinc). Out of desperation just to try everything so he doesn't always get sick, I got those for my son. So for a few days now, he's on 3 kinds of supplements. Morning - prebiotic and probiotics After dinner - the elderberry syrup (contains vit C and zinc) Before sleep - tiger milk mushroom But now, I am doubting myself, and I'm very concerned. Am I feeding him too much supplement? #firsttimemom

Aiyo, I totally understand your worry, macam you're doing everything you can to keep him well, which is so valid! But honestly, 3 supplements daily for an 18-month-old does sound like a lot, and I'd really suggest checking in with his pediatrician about this specific combination and dosages, sebab their little bodies are still developing and some supplements might not be needed or could interact. A few of us mummies have learned the hard way that more isn't always better, and sometimes the gut needs a break too! What I'm more curious about though, has the doctor investigated why he's catching everything so often? Like, is it just bad luck with nursery/daycare exposure, or is there something with his immune system they're looking at? Because if there's an underlying thing, that's probably what needs addressing rather than just stacking supplements, even though I get the desperation (we've all been there after a hospital stay ). Definitely chat with the pediatrician about whether all three are even necessary, or if you can simplify while you figure out what's really going on.
