Mild electric shock

Hi mummies! I am about 20 weeks pregnant and I got a mild electric shock when I was doing cleaning just now. Any mummies experienced this and went on ok? Thank you.

Oh dear, I hope you're feeling okay now! From what I've generally heard, a very brief, mild household shock, like a quick zap from something low-voltage, often turns out fine for both mum and baby, especially if there was no prolonged contact. That said, the outcomes can really vary depending on the voltage and duration of the shock, so it's not something to just brush off, because in some cases there can be effects on the baby even if mum feels completely normal. I'd say the safer move is to call your gynae or head to the hospital today to get checked, just so they can monitor the baby's heartbeat and make sure everything looks good, most mums I've heard of in similar situations were asked to do exactly that, and it gave them real peace of mind. Better to have it assessed and be reassured than to wonder.
