NUH Private Charges

Hi mummies! Anyone ever took/have info about the charges in NUH? I’ll only be seeing Dr Citra on my 35th week. But was wondering how much (if you know) is the deposit for the A Ward? Thanks!

Hey! From what I've generally heard, the deposit for NUH A Ward can be quite a bit, roughly up to $550 per day for the first two days of admission, then around $400 per day from the third day onwards, so they'll likely ask for a deposit based on an estimated stay length. On top of that, I've heard the delivery fees themselves are separate, vaginal delivery starting around $7k and C-section around $12k, excluding ward charges, so the total can add up faster than you'd expect. One thing worth doing is calling NUH's billing or customer service directly to get a written estimate before your 35th week, because the actual charges can differ depending on your specific situation and whether you're a Singapore citizen. Honestly it's better to know early so you're not scrambling to arrange the funds last minute!

Hi mum, I delivered at NUH before and from what I know, for private patients they usually don’t have one fixed deposit amount for A ward because they calculate based on your estimated total bill and do financial counselling before admission. So the deposit can differ depending on delivery type and your coverage situation. Since you’re only seeing Dr Citra at 35 weeks, I would honestly just ask the clinic team or financial counsellor directly when you go because they can give a much more accurate estimate for your case and whether Medisave or insurance changes the upfront amount.
