Hi! Yes quite a few Singapore mummies do this to save on costs and it works well as long as you plan it properly. NIPT in Singapore can cost anywhere from $800 to $1,200 or more depending on the package and your gynae. In JB the same test is significantly cheaper, often around RM800 to RM1,500 depending on the clinic and test type, which works out to a big saving. A few clinics that Singapore mummies have gone to for NIPT in JB: Klinik Caring (Impian Emas / Skudai area) is one that comes up frequently. They offer NIPT from 10 weeks onwards, screen for Down Syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities, and include a consultation to explain results clearly. Sonobee Ultrasound (Taman Adda Heights) is another popular one among Singaporeans, well known for scans and prenatal testing with flexible appointment slots including same day bookings. A few practical things to keep in mind: Make sure you are at least 10 weeks along before going as that is the minimum for most NIPT tests. Bring your Singapore gynae's referral notes or any scan reports so the JB clinic has your background. Results are typically sent digitally within 5 to 10 working days so your Singapore gynae can review them at your next consultation without issue. The blood draw itself is simple and takes just a few minutes. Most mummies make a day trip of it which is really manageable at week 11. Hope this helps and wishing you a smooth pregnancy!
