Care for newborn, working moms

Hi mommies, FTM here... Can you share your experiences - how you arrange care for your newborn after ML lapse and have to return to work? Anything tips?

The anxiety of going back to work and leaving your precious newborn, it's so real and so hard, you're not alone at all! My neighbour brought her baby to infant care around 4 months old and she said the first few weeks were really tough, her little one got a fever on like the 4th day itself, so just mentally prepare that the adjustment period can be bumpy, but it does get better. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned that before going back, it's worth talking to your HR honestly about flexi-work options like teleworking a few days or adjusted hours, because apparently some companies will accommodate especially for new mums if you just ask nicely. My friend also explored hiring a part-time nanny to come home instead, especially for the first few months when baby is so small and you're worried about infant care germs, she said having that one-on-one care gave her more peace of mind. Some mums in my group love the infant care route because of the structure and socialisation, but a few did have concerns about baby falling sick more frequently in the early months, so it really depends on your own comfort level and support network lah!
