Birth control shot in health center

Hello mga mommies! Ask ko lang po what kind of birth control shot is given from local health centers? EBF po si LO ever since she was born, so ang 1st birth control namin is LAM and condom. March 13 ng gabi I had my first period agad (I gave birth noong Nov 22, 2023), then I had my 1st birth control shot sa health center dito sa barangay namin last March 14. We did the *deed* netong araw mismo (march 25) and jinutok ng husband ko sa loob. Di nasabi sakin sa center when can we have our 1st intercourse and when safe iputok sa loob. I am worried na baka di pa effective yung birth control. Ayoko na rin kasi masundan si LO hahaha gusto ko only child lang siya. Thank u so much sa mga sasagot po

Hi mama! Most health centers dito sa Pilipinas give Depo-Provera (the 3-month injection), and usually they'll say it's effective after 7 days if you got it during your period, which sounds like your case since you had yours on March 13, so by March 25 you should've been protected na, pero honestly best to double-check with your health center kasi they know your exact situation and timing best. Medyo anxiety-inducing ang uncertainty nito, I know, kaya seryoso talaga i-verify with them kapag may chance, para ma-ease out your mind at malaman mo rin for next time kung kelan talaga safe pumwesto inside, wala kaming dapat ikompromiso sa peace of mind, lalo na kung planning lang talaga ang family mo!
