PuGongYing Fig Tea

I've been given a box of the PuGongYing Fig Tea from Eu Yan Sang as part of our company's wellness program. Is it safe to drink during pregnancy?

Oh I totally understand the uncertainty, when I was pregnant, I was so cautious about every single thing I put in my mouth, even plain herbal teas! I actually remember my mother-in-law passing me various Eu Yan Sang teas during my pregnancy and I had to double-check each one carefully before drinking. From what I've generally heard, the PuGongYing Fig Tea from Eu Yan Sang is considered a fairly gentle, natural blend without artificial additives, and some mums have had it without issues. That said, PuGongYing (dandelion) is a cooling herb in TCM, so there's a bit of caution around whether it suits every pregnancy constitution, especially if you tend to run "cold", a few mums I know were advised to go easy on cooling herbs during their first trimester. Since everyone's body and pregnancy is different, it's really worth a quick check with your gynae or a TCM practitioner before making it a regular drink, just to be safe. Wishing you a smooth and healthy pregnancy, take good care of yourself!
