I was thinking of teaching my child English as his first language, do you think that would be okay, or would he have issues stuyding Filipino later on?
Đọc thêmEnglish speaking kids are somewhat perceived an intelligent one. I must admit, I too taught my daughter to speak english. In a way, speaking in english somewhat shortens things you may want to say vs saying it in Filipino. While I find it very nice, I also find it to be confusing on my daughter's side. When she mingles with other relatives whom cant speak english well, she's not responsive to them while they talk with her in filipino. In that regards, I also teach her filipino by conversing her using the local language. It is also beneficial when the child socializes with other kid with her own age, at least s/he can communicate with others be it in english or in filipino :)
Đọc thêmNot sure kasi four months palang baby ko. Pero I'm planning to teach English as his first language. Why? Same with English, kung ang environment mo is puro kausap are english speaking, mas madaling matuto ng english. Maganda siguro yung isang comment dito na binabalance nila yung language na gagamitin. Si dad is english and si mom tagalog. Cinoconsider ko din sya na gawin sa baby ko in the future.
Đọc thêmSharing the same thoughts with Lisville and Faye! My nephew's first tongue is also English. Whenever he interacts with other kids who can't speak the language well, there is a tendency that other kids refuse to play with him. He is also struggling with some of his subjects like Filipino and AP. He just recently had his summer class for Filipino. I suggest that while you let your child master the English language, still find the right balance in conversing with him using Filipino language.
Đọc thêmFor me. Nakakaintindi and nakakapag salita yung daughter ko ng English and at the same time tagalog.
They could learn at least 4 languages hanggat di pa sila nag sisix years old I think and this has something to do woth theor brain development
Đọc thêmYung kapatid ng asawa ko, bata pa sya 5 yrs old lang now, english speaking sya ever since. Ok lang po turuan ng english basta maturuan nyo din po ng tagalog at the same time
You can teach both at the same time. My niece was taught english first, nung trinansfer sa public school, naging loner kasi walang gustong kumausap sa kanya.
