Is it normal for toddler to be hard to handle?

I am a sahm, my LO is 14 months. I find that he is going through the terrible 2 stage. I need advice for his actions.. 1) He don't know how to talk yet but he will kick his leg whenever he wants something or angry. I will say firmly no to him and beat his leg one time when he kick me during diaper change. 2) When during bath time he don't sit and play with water or toys. He will stand up and wants to play with the water pipe. So being in a bath tub is impossible because he climb out of it and wants to stand on the floor.. something he sit on the floor for awhile and stand up again. He don't know how to walk yet and he is holding me while standing.not only that, he hate showering.. He dislike me using cloth to wipe his teeth he will cry like being torture and I put him in bed to wipe him down he will crawl away and run away... I am having a hard time bathing him. 3) He starts to cry waking up during sleep. I not sure is.it nightmare but he will cry for awhile and I have to sing to make him sleep. He used to sleep through the night, but now he can wake up cry once or twice. 4) He keep on screaming when he need something or screaming for fun.. I had talk to him whenever he do something not right and he just want to crawl away or smile .. When I hold him firmly and tell him he will cry.... Pls give me some advice.. thank you.. sorry for the long post..

hi dear, your baby is still a baby, and curious. and now,he knows he can request and insist his ways because to him, 'No' is not an answer or solution. it doesn't mean that he is misbehaving, or not listening to you, but more like testing his boundaries. it is ok to instill what he can/cannot do, be firm. he will be picking up words really soon, and will be talking. keep talking to him and avoid baby talk, teach him to verbalise words, yes, no, daddy, mummy, I want, this ,that, please, sorry. even when he don't say it, he understands so, I can out advise you to chill, let him be a baby, soon he will outgrow this phase, and onwards to another phase, commonly known as terrible two, but I call it the terrific two. every stage brings on new challenges.

I have a 14month old too and his behaviour is exactly the same as yours. Doesn't wanna change diaper, doesn't wanna finish his milk, keeps running away, doesn't wanna shower, random cries at night. What we did was anything that would stop him from crying because once he starts, it's never ending. We can only make sure the place is safe for him and the task is completed. I think a calm baby is a happier baby who listens well. So I will carry him and explain calmly to him while he finishes crying. Once he's done, he will start doing other things. About cries at night, I use the pacifier. I also know whenever he cries, he wants to sleep with us. So you need to find out why your baby does that. Good luck!

Hi~its apart of growing up. At 14 months they will like to explore with their hands. And they r curious with everything. As for his sleep from baby to toddler his sleep pattern will keep changing. My son is turing 4 and he still cry once or twice in the mid of the night. Once he hit terrible 2 will be worst. Alot of tolerance and patience is required. But dun worry the phase will pass.

It's just a phase. He will outgrow these soon. Just continue to do what you're doing. Remember, he doesn't know how to talk yet. So his way of commutating his needs or preferences to you may have to be done through such ways.

it is a phase whereby we need to give them time to calm down and help them to think. giving them space would help them to think of consequences as we explain. i find terrible 2 nothing compared to three nager 🤣

I have a 14 mo too and he does the same stuff. they are just like monkeys now so we just have to bear with it and be more patient with them.

sometimes if they cry in the middle of the night it might be teething...
