Besides blood that will cause your milk to be pinkish, another potential cause is if you had consumed food that are naturally red/pink or food with red dyes. For example, beets or any red fruit drinks may cause your milk to be coloured. Regardless, both will not be harmful to your baby and could still be consumed. If you are worried, call up your doctor for some clarifications. Hope this helps! "Pink milk" usually contains blood from your cracked or injured nipples. It is safe to feed baby the milk as mummies who direct latch will not know if their milk contains blood unless they pump them out. If you are not comfortable to give baby the milk, you can pour them out. Some babies might reject drinking the milk as it will be a different taste from normal.

Did you eat beets recently? Because my friend expressed pink milk once and it's because she ate beets with meatballs over Christmas, in large quantities. At first she thought it was blood but she smelt and tasted it drop of it and there was nothing odd about it except for the colour. Turns out that the beets "dyed" her milk. Baby didn't seem to mind one bit!

It's probably blood from your cracked nipple or maybe a broken capillary. Generally if it's pinkish you can still can feed baby, but avoid if red.
