Failed GD test

I just failed my GD test yesterday, wondering how you all cope with it and what changes have you made in terms of diet? Do you all prick yourself everyday?

I totally get the shock of it, I failed mine too, and honestly, the first thought is always "oh no, what did I do wrong?" But it's really not about failure; it's just how your body is handling the pregnancy hormones this time around. Diet-wise, I found the biggest game-changer was actually adding more protein and healthy fats to every meal, not just cutting carbs. So instead of having toast alone for breakfast, I'd do toast with eggs and avocado, and that kept my blood sugar way more stable than I expected. Someone in my mum group swore by eating smaller, frequent meals rather than three big ones, and that helped her numbers too. Yes, you'll prick yourself daily, most of us check fasting and then after meals, depending on what your endocrinologist or dietitian recommends. It sounds annoying, but after the first week it becomes routine, and honestly, it's quite helpful to see which foods actually spike you versus which ones don't. Some mums ended up needing insulin, and that's completely fine, it just means your baby gets what they need, but plenty of us managed with diet alone. The good news is that once you know what works for your body, it gets easier. Do check in with your doctor or the dietitian they refer you to though, because everyone's a bit different with how they respond!

Im with KKH subsidized route and they gave a counselling on when to prick and the programs they have to support GD in the last trimester. I only have to prick 2 consecutive days a week, and i did not cut my diet except for sugar.
