Mastitis is the most common breast infection. Here are some prevention tips: - nurse frequently if you are latching or never skip pumping schedule and cause engorgement - do not wear tight bras - correct latching positions http://breastfeeding.about.com/od/CommonProblems/a/Mastitis.htm I had mastitis once and it was like a flu-symptoms and painful breasts. Gynae prescribed me on antibiotics. After that episode, I try to clear my boobs as much as possible when baby drinks very little. Also, I applied hot compression each time before I latch/pump.
