How can I come to terms with my guilty feelings about quitting breastfeeding?

Accept the fact that this decision is best for you and your baby. Focus on the fact that you can now spend more quality time cuddling and interacting with your baby. I feel that ensuring that you baby feels loved and secure is the greatest gift a mother can give her child. If breastfeeding is not working out, you are affected, your baby is affected. You may even get so frustrated and upset that it may drive you away from your baby (to avoiding feeding him/her). This would be even worst that not being able to continue breastfeeding. The potential benefits of breastfeeding would only be maximized if both the baby and mother are benefiting from it. Speak to someone close to you who could understand. You can also contact this group: http://breastfeeding.org.sg/ They could offer support and information that may be able to help you get over your guilt. Take care!
