Week 6 ivf pregnancy & bleeding

This is my first IVF and my first pregnancy. I saw my gynae today for the second time and there is a fetal pole, and we were able to see the baby’s heartbeat. However, I suddenly started bleeding quite a bit today while waiting for him for an hr in his clinic. I’ve had some discharge since week 5, but nothing like this. Dr hasn’t offered much beyond increasing my Duphaston and Progynova, Utrogestan inserts, advising bed rest, and taking a “wait and see” approach to whether the baby survives. Is this really all that can be done? I’m not sure who else to turn to and I’m feeling really worried and upset. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

That must have been really scary 😔 but the fact that you’ve already seen a heartbeat is a very positive sign. Bleeding (even quite a lot) can still happen in early pregnancy, especially with IVF, things like a subchorionic bleed are quite common. Unfortunately, your doctor is right that at this stage it often is a wait-and-see situation, with progesterone support and rest being the main things they can do. If you are really feeling anxious, you can head to the A&E or another doctor for second opinion. Hang in there
