Lala hotpot?
Hi fellow mummies, first time mum here currently 13 weeks pregnant. Can I have lala hotpot and just drink the soup and other ingredients without eating the lala(clams)?

Hi, congrats on your pregnancy! I'd say it's safer to just skip the hotpot outing for now since the broth itself can get contaminated from the raw ingredients going in and out, especially if the lala weren't cooked thoroughly enough beforehand. Might be good to check with your PD or gynaec just to be safe, but generally during pregnancy it's better to play it cautious with shellfish and raw seafood. You can always enjoy hotpot after baby arrives, or go for a chicken or beef broth hotpot instead where everything gets cooked properly in front of you.
