Wa'alaikumussalam sayang, firstly tahniah on your new baby and alhamdulillah for fully breastfeeding, that itself is such a beautiful thing. My friend brought her baby to KK for prolonged jaundice and she said the doctor did a blood test first to check the bilirubin level and also to rule out any liver or thyroid issues, so don't be too worried if they refer you to a paediatrician, it's quite standard procedure. Someone in my mums WhatsApp group mentioned that for breast milk jaundice specifically, the KK doctor actually encouraged her to continue breastfeeding, more frequent feeding helps flush out the bilirubin, so please don't stop your BF journey, Puan. My neighbour's baby pun had the same thing at 37 weeks and went through a short phototherapy session at the hospital, and alhamdulillah after a few days under the light the levels came down nicely, though she said the hardest part was leaving baby under the lamp. As always though, every baby is different, so do share all your concerns openly with your KK doctor or paediatrician, they know your little one's situation best and will guide you with the most appropriate care, insya-Allah.
