Sakit memang ada lah, especially when they're positioning the catheter, a few of us felt that sharp pinch or burning sensation jugak, tapi it's honestly so brief compared to contractions, and then the relief datang! Lepas itu tak ada pain, just pressure je. I'd say don't let the insertion moment scare you off, sebab the pain management during labour itself is so worth it, boleh rest between contractions and push dengan energy yang ada. Definitely ask your doctor or anaesthetist about your first experience so they can adjust positioning or timing for the second round, maybe they can do it when a strong contraction is happening so you're distracted lah. Mommies in my group also said second time around it's less scary because you know what to expect!
