20 month old vocabulary

My 20 month old can take instructions but speaks pieces of words, not very accurate in pronouncing. Is that usual, how can I improve his vocab?

Hey Huizhen! Continue to encourage your baby to talk by having conversations with him. Talking to him and reading with him more often with also help him with his vocabulary.

thanks! yes I try and read books to him but he is a little active. so i might have to make learning fun for him
