- 2024-11-04Hello mummies. What are your takes on taking collagen supplements if you are still breastfeeding your little one, say around 4 months?
- 2024-11-04Hi ladies, anyone went to any female clinic and request ultrasound to see your growing baby? My next scan is 3 more weeks and the wait feels so long!
- 2024-11-04Just receive a call and was told my nipt results not conclusive.. did at 10+2 weeks.. anyone similar situation?
- 2024-11-04Hi mummies! Unfortunately I went back to work two months ago. And unfortunately after I went back, my supply dwindled like crazy. My routine was that I would pump at work once during lunch at 1pm, and then once I got home by like 6pm my baby would latch on. But after a while, work got so busy and I had missed my lunch pump. I thought by baby latching it would continue to stimulate it, but it wasn't enough as my supply continued to decrease. Today I tried pumping but only managed to express like, 20ml for both sides :(((
Any mummies had been in my position but managed to successfully increase your supply? Any tips on how I can continue to pump during a busy day at work (I work in a preschool setting)? And what would be a good pumping schedule I can follow daily? Food-wise I know probably would go back to taking 100plus and legendary milk pills religiously, but any other food tips?
Any sharing would be good. Thanks so much mummies!
- 2024-11-04I went for downsymdrom screening today. My fetus position was face down the whole time. Baby barely move to get captured, I have to go for a walk and come back to the ultrasound room to try three times also hard to get it move the fetus. Luckily one senior staff come in and help to use another method then successful.
My husband worry that if the fetus facing down will have more chance of miscarriage and I am also a bit worry.
Idk because of he facing down position, my belly was more heavy and very hard to move myself.
Can some experience person tell us is it safe position if the fetus facing down during 2nd trimester, please?
Thank you.
- 2024-11-04Is szechuan preserved veg soup (四川菜湯) safe for pregnancy? I’m in my first trimester and have been having cravings for savoury food. I’ve seen mixed response on the internet about preserved food. Just wondering if it’s safe to drink the soup (and not eat the veg)?

- 2024-11-04My bb is 2 weeks old, recently I notice some noise when bb is breathing. It sounds like a blocked nose or snoring, esp when laying down or feeding. Is it normal? Or should bring to see Dr (if yes, gp or hospital?)

- 2024-11-04I’m reaching my post partum 1 month mark and I’m exclusively pumping.
However I still feel that my nipples are very sore to be touched by my bra and is wearing my silver cups 24/7. Is it normal to wear silver cups for such a long duration? And normal for nips to still be sore after 1 month mark?

- 2024-11-05Hi dear parents!
Just want to ask around if there are any good suggestions/recommendations in hiring a part-time helper/babysitter (SG based) to help out in the evenings for weekdays and sometimes half a day during the weekends with caring for my toddler and complete simple household chores so that we, parents have a break and/or time to focus on some work for awhile.
We are still on the fence of hiring an in-house helper as most weekdays we are out for work and our 2 yr old daughter is at daycare. The trying and tiring moments are usually in the evenings and weekends 😅 During this time, we at times feel having an extra pair of hands will be such a load off...
If there are any recommendations, feel free to share & also your experiences & expertise in handling all those tough tiring moments 🙏🏻
Thank you! ☺️

- 2024-11-05Last check up 1 Nov, 2cm dilated but cervix still thick. Now already 5 Nov not sure how many dilated already? Feeling heavy on the lower side and very hard to move around especially during nap. Having trouble turning my body or get up from the bed.
- 2024-11-05I am currently on week 6, day 1. I went for my first vaginal ultrasound on week 5, day 1, and the results only showed a white circle without anything inside. The doctor mentioned that by the next week (week 6), I should be able to see the baby's shape growing inside. However, when I went back a week later (week 6, day 1), there was just a very tiny pop out, not in any shape yet. Is this normal for all mothers here for a W6D1 ultrasound?
- 2024-11-05I am currently in my 6th week of pregnancy, and I found out I had bleeding (not heavy). I went to the doctor immediately. The doctor gave me Dydrogesterone, 3 tablets 2 times per day. After taking the Dydrogesterone, my discharge has obviously changed; it is very yellowish and thick. Is this normal?
- 2024-11-05I usually don’t drink carbonated drinks by choice. But ever since i got pregnant, i am so bloated and gassy. Farting and burping randomly is so normal for me. But at night, i cannot burp or fart and its very uncomfortable. So after dinner, i would drink half a cup of a&w or root beer. Is there any other option beside drinking gassy drinks? Idw this to be a habit or a routine.
- 2024-11-05can contractions appear without feeling the pain? can anyone share

- 2024-11-05My employer gave me stupid excuses for not confirming me just because I'm pregnant.
Yesterday my boss just suddenly called for a meeting tgt w hr. Mentioned want to talk about my performance. But all the points she mentioned are so unfair and unreasonable . Saying I nv do the things tat actually I have done so much. Then called me to look for a hair stylist to do something w my white and baby hair (my work place is not a place tat I need to dress up). Then pick on me for very small correctable things. And oso put words in my colleague's mouth saying she is not comfortable working w me around (when I'm so close to her supporting each other at work). I guess this is all about what they said and I said matters. After I shared w hubby he said the whole picture was very simple... They just don't want to cover my maternity benefits. I guess even if I go report to mom,... There's nothing they can do. Am I right? I'm ok not to work but I just find it unfair treatment in such a big name company. Any advice? 😢

- 2024-11-06Anyone here is obese and pregnant? And has been prescribed blood thinner to reduce the risk of getting pre-eclampsia?
Im in that situation but the blood thinner is causing me to vomit more than usual and when i vomit, its literally squeezing my stomach till only clear mucus comes out. And it gets very painful. When i go to the gynae, they say its not a must to continue but encouraged too.
So anyone have been obese during pregnancy but didnt take blood thinners? Did everything turn out fine? 🥺
- 2024-11-06Hi Mums,
I’d really appreciate your advice on my situation.
I’ve been a stay-at-home mum (SAHM) caring for my 2-year-old, but now she’s in childcare. In 2025, she’ll turn 4, and I plan to transition her to a regular 3-hour kindergarten. I’m also due to deliver in May 2025. Currently, I work part-time from home, but my salary only covers a small portion of our grocery expenses and a couple hundreds of saving.
I’m trying to figure out what would be the best option moving forward, and I’d love to hear your experiences and advice on the following:
1. Quit my job after maternity leave and focus on handling both kids (with my husband being the sole breadwinner, as he used to be, but now with two kids).
2. Continue working part-time from home and care for my toddler, while placing my newborn in infant care after 4 months. (Can anyone share roughly how much infant care costs?)
3. Continue working part-time and hire a maid, with my salary mainly going toward the maid’s costs. (Any mums here have a maid? How much do they cost?)
I’d really appreciate it if you could share any rough cost estimates, even if they vary, so I can make a more informed decision.
My husband is leaning towards Option 3, but I personally think Option 2 might work better. I just want to weigh the costs and pros and cons before making my decision.
Thanks so much for your help!

- 2024-11-06Is it normal to have bleeding gum or feel slight swollen to your gum during pregnancy?
I have been experiencing that everytime i brush my teeth, it bleeds, but i dont feel any pain to my teeth or gum. Is that normal? Anyone experiencing the same thing?
- 2024-11-07I have requested to work from home during my 1st trimester due to very bad symptoms such as morning sickness (more like all the time, anytime sickness), lower back aches, nausea, vomitting and lethargy. My boss is female and she is alright with it, but I can't help but feel that my other colleagues would frown on me. I am still doing the same workload (if not more) and putting in the same hours (if not more), but I just don't participate in face-to-face meetings (unless I am absolutely needed, i will call in via teams). Some colleagues know of my pregnancy, but others don't. I do want to return to office but I am really not 100% well and do not want to gross anyone out if I were to accidentallly projectile vomit in office. I know I am in a privileged position to be able to work from home, but should I at least make the effort to come to office despite not feeling 100% well?
- 2024-11-07My bby (going 4mths) is on BM through out but he hasnt been pooing everyday and i realised that only formula milk makes him poo so i swap 1 feed of BM out for formula per day. Not sure isit because of my diet that affect BM? that he dont poo everyday, sometimes 5-6 days poo 1 time and the colour and consistency is as per photo… isit normal? And i love to drink bubble tea (without pearl), will it affect my BM? like too sweet or smtg and make bby unhealthy?
- 2024-11-07Hi, first time mom here and considering elective caesarean section at NUH. Highly appreciate some advice from mummies!
1. Any moms able to share about their recovery process for C-section? And whether it is at NUH or other hospitals.
2. Would you be able to breastfeed on the day of operation? Does the pain makes breastfeeding challenging afterwards?
3. For the wound, does NUH tends to use dissolvable stictches or would it be some kind of plaster? Did the scar heal fairly well afterwards?
Thanks in advance!
- 2024-11-07Hi mummies, based on reading, I understand that during first consultation (early pregnancy weeks) there will be transvaginal scan. For those who met male doctors, are they the ones performing the procedure or will a female nurse be doing so? Just feeling anxious about it... Any other concerns over male or female docs? TIA for sharing your experience! =)

- 2024-11-08Mummies.. my husband has left me close to 7 months and has since decided to divorce me. But not yet confirm with Syariah Court. So technically, we're still legally married by status and law. These past few months have been an extreme rollercoaster ride for me. Also a reflecting one. Lost my loved one just recently. Have been waiting for job offer for quite sometime. And of course the main one, is the divorce. If you were in my shoes, would you proceed with the divorce or would you give it another shot? Cos i believe, both parties are at wrong and i also believe both parties haven't show and shower plenty of love towards each other. I do not know why am i thinking and feeling this way. We have a child together who is turning one soon. And yeah, humans are bound to make mistakes. I just don't want to be in the same position. I want to grow out of it. But i do not know what is in his mind. I do not want to initiate any conversation. We have not been having any conversation eversince. So it'll be awkward if we do now and i do not want to get hurt or receive any hurtful comments from him. #advisepls
- 2024-11-09Hi mommies, I will be traveling alone with a 5 month old baby on a red eye flight. Though it's only a 5 hour flight, I m quite stressed as it is the first time. Appreciate any tips on how to manage this!
- 2024-11-09Hi, just went for my first ultrasound two days ago. Based on LMP suppose to be 6w6d. Ultrasound shows 5 weeks+. Can see the GS and a tiny dot inside only. Except for firmer boobs and larger sore nipple, and some fatigue, no obvious sypmtom such as morning sickness, dizzy spells, loss of apetite etc. I still eat like normal and no cravings.
Doc asks me to come back in 2 weeks to scan again. Anyone in same boat? How do you not feel anxious and worry in this 2 weeks wait? Please share! Thank you!!
- 2024-11-09Just wanted to gain some perspective... I live with my parents in law and have a 5mo baby~
She is an easy baby and doesn't really cry much, very easy to take care. Sleeps through the night also, so we don't really need to adjust our own schedule to baby for anything. I have a pretty good relationship with in laws, but some things they do very irritating... like I know it is out of good will, but like I just can't wrap my head around it and can't feel better no matter how I think about it
Like for example baby sometimes will cling onto me and lie on my chest, then when I bring her out to living room, in laws will literally pry her fingers open from my clothes and carry her over, just because they want to hold her
Or like when I bring her out to living room so she can play with rest of family, they always like insist "I take care you go rest". But like (1) I don't need the rest? And (2) I don't really want to leave my baby alone with them.. but cannot really say anything because I don't want my husband to be in difficult position.
My husband not at home one time and in law before going out to buy dinner tell me don't shower baby until she come back in case i cannot handle.. (????? Then forever we need more than 2 people to take care of the kid at home meh). These things don't usually happen when my husband is home because he is fierce and they don't do it to him... because I keep trying to protect my husband's feelings also, I feel like they think I am a pushover (which in all other parts of my life I don't have any issue establishing boundaries assertively one)
I feel angry sometimes because I don't like these things happening, but afterwards also feel guilty and wonder if I am being petty or over protective because I still want my baby to have a community...
Has anyone had the same experience?
---
edit: thank you everyone for sharing your experience, perspectives and advice 🙏 I feel a lot more relieved as I am reminded that my feelings are valid, and that I can still establish my boundaries - especially in a polite way! Have also taken steps to share w HB and he has spoken up to family when necessary.
