- 2024-10-07Hi mummies. I'm in my mid thirties and a second born. Just would like to rant a little. In a few days, my younger sibling who is in her late twenties, is going away on a vacation with her friends. Why is it that my parents allowed her to go on overseas trip while me, at that age, they have alot to say when i said i want to go on a trip with friends? Why is it that they always have doubt in me? Why is it when it comes to my younger sibling, they somehow are ok with it? Just felt like there's an unfair treatment over here.

- 2024-10-07Hey mummies. what do you use to dry your hands before assembling bottles and pump parts? Tissue, kitchen towel, or cloth? Recently, someone told me not to use tissue because bits of it might transfer onto the bottles. I feel cloth is a bit not hygiene. Now, i am using Vinda kitchen towel. Is that ok?

- 2024-10-07Hello mummies. I've been unemployed since March 2023 and have been gaining weight eversince i gave birth. I just want to lose weight and at the same time to take care of my child. Help.
- 2024-10-07If you are looking for a basic weighing scale just for measuring weight, this is a no frills one.
- 2024-10-07i havent been back here to rant in a while and i thought things were finally looking up; i thought we were finally getting along but i guess im wrong.
like most anons, i used to frequent this app when i had worrying questions back when LO was still an infant/newborn and on some occasions i would come to rant and seek out advice from other mom/parents who had in-laws who were difficult to get along with— now bubs is a toddler and i cant believe im still not seeing eye to eye w them or maybe im starting to realise they just have a problem with me but oh well, im back here to rant and vent out my feelings… AGAIN.
to start things off, i was the sole caretaker of bubs (and i already had issues with my mother-in-law since day 1) until i had to enter the workforce and focus on providing for our family (hubs also worked but not in the corporate industry). my in-laws and us decided that it would be best if their helper took care of bubs until bubs was old enough to go to childcare PG. everything was going great, a few miscommunications along the way, until today— and it broke the camel’s back.
i would usually fetch bubs from in-laws place after im done with work and we would go home (we currently stay at my parents’ place— this is important) from there. but today, i couldnt do so due to work so i asked hubs to fetch bubs just for today. while at work, i noticed our baby camera sent out a notification for baby crying so i checked it out, asked hubs, no response— understandable as he had to take care at that moment. so i came home from work, bubs was fast asleep so hubs and i ate dinner together before bubs woke up.
around 30 mins later, bubs woke up crying and was inconsolable, we didnt know what was wrong so naturally and logically, hubs went to text a groupchat with my in-laws and helper to ask if anything happened today to which they replied nothing out of the ordinary. my mum was worried and so were we, she suggested to give paracetamol (she’s a nurse) as bubs looked like he was really in pain and he felt stiff on the bottom part of his body. i noticed hubs felt a bit unsure of the idea of giving meds as if it felt unnecessary and we dont really know what’s wrong at that point, so i asked him to hear out his opinion to which he replied, “idk babe, im not a doctor”. fair, so i decided to put the meds aside and waited for my mum to calm bubs down. she instructed me to ask in-laws/helper in the groupchat if bubs has been having diarrhoea and might have a stomachache. so i did.
after some time, my mum suggested to change his diaper and lo and behold, he pooped his pants (it was really watery) and from then he went back to being inconsolable and was stiff again. hubs went to wash bub’s groin area and he stopped crying until it was time to change diaper and i suggested to put the rash cream in case he has any rashes and to also prevent them from appearing. he declined and said bub doesnt need it and he usually doesnt even put it on in the first place. i got pissed so i told him i’ll just do it instead and my mum and i saw some huge rashes/bumps on bub’s groin. AND HE STILL HAD THE NERVE NOT TO PUT ON THE DAMN RASH CREAM.
back to my in-laws and this is where the problem begins— i texted the groupchat to conclude the problem to bub’s inconsolable crying and informed them that bubs just have some rashes on the groin area. after that, hubs reprimanded me by saying that he’ll handle the texting and told me not to text anymore. obviously pissed at that idea, i opposed and asked why i couldn’t ask as it’s my son we’re talking about here.
mother-in-law thought i was attacking their helper for questioning if bubs has been having diarrhoea. all i did was ask a genuine question, what’s so wrong about that? please someone enlighten me because wtf? how did this even turn into a mishap? and how did it lead up to me becoming at fault?
at that point, mother-in-law was replying with an attitude and that i should just ask her straight instead of asking their helper. i was enraged at the fact that my husband had to reason with his mum and had to explain to her that i was just asking a question.
after all of this, hubs and i got into a heated argument, mentioning divorce. and i lost it. so many dark thoughts went through my head and then there’s work… like ugh, im just so… tired. why do i have to deal with all of this unnecessary stuff.
if anyone has reached up to this point, thank you so much for taking the time to read. i genuinely am asking for advice on what to do next… i’ll take anything at this point. #ranting

- 2024-10-08Hi, currently I’m doing checkups via the public route at KKH. The next scans are at the week 20 mark. I understand the 20th week scan to be a rather detailed one.
Am thinking of registering myself with a Private OBGYN.
Anyone could share advice if I should transit before my 20th week scan or after I have completed the 20th week scan at KKH?
Any difference if I do it before or after?

- 2024-10-08Hi Mommies, just want to know if what i am experiencing is post partum depression. So far i'm already 4 months going 5 since i gave birth to my LO. But i often find myself feeling easily irritated by surroundings. I always get mad or disheartened with my husband sometimes for small mistakes. Felt irritated when baby my LO doesnt stop crying. I think my mind may come to the extend on shouting at my LO as she cries almost all day long when she wakes up from sleep. She also hardly sleeps through the night. Once once or twice every week she'll slept through but other days she's going to wake up every 3 hours and cry for milk.

- 2024-10-08Hello mommies, just curious, how old are your baby and what time do they sleep?

- 2024-10-08did any of yall actually manage to successfully co parent? we’re not married , not really speaking… used to be on terrible terms but now slowly speaking. I send their family pictures now and then.
I grew up without a dad & I really don’t want my kid to go through the same thing. But baby daddy is not really asking about the baby. he met baby once and that’s it. As much as I love spending time with Baby I want him to spend some time with his father too. Want to suggest for him to come take baby on weekends but I don’t really know how to bring it up.
Actually I don’t even know anymore does this man even wants to be in my baby life:,)
what would you do if you were me?
- 2024-10-08It has been really challenging whenever our toddler throws tantrum, does not do what we want her to do, and is fussy with eating. My husband loses his temper very easily whenever such things happen. I, on the other hand, try to stay calm and always wish that he could too, as I have learnt that there are better ways to handle such situations instead of getting angry. The atmosphere also feels very tense because there is a lot of crying from our toddler and shouting from my husband, and I do not like it. It also feels like my husband and I are not on the same page when it comes to our way of parenting. We sometimes question each other when we do certain things, and it feels like the one being questioned is being blamed. I just want more joy and peace in the house, and less shouting and unhappiness. Are there any tips on how to better manage our emotions while facing challenges with our toddler?
- 2024-10-09My baby just fell from the bed and my heart sank. He cried so hard and I cried too. So far no bruise and he is active. Should I bring him to see the doc?
- 2024-10-09Hello! I'm planning to host a 1st birthday party for my boy coming Feb 2025. We have abt 90-100 guests attending. There will be buffet catering. But i not sure what size of cake I should get. Do i need to serve the cake to every guest? Or is actually fine that the guests don't get to eat the cake? To get a cake that can serve up to 90-100 pax, it will cost a bomb! The cake I'm looking currently (customise safari theme cake) that can only serve up to 67 pax is already $500+ 😅
- 2024-10-09Anyone can guide me about how to choose which private hospital for my first new born delivery? In terms of how professional doctor reputation, trained nurses and caring program and cost , hospital practice and merit etc..
Thank you.
- 2024-10-09My daughter just turned 15 months and only calls papa and mama whenever she feels like it, not on demand. Went to polyclinic for her vaccination and nurse said she is abit slow. And she still can’t walk independently yet although she can hold and walk / stand without holding. Does any parents face these situations? Why do I feel like kids these days have “strict” milestones?

- 2024-10-10Hello mummies, just need to rant. I recently gave birth, and one day my husband came to the hospital with his mother. Shortly, the lactation consultant arrived, and we pulled the curtain over so the consultant could teach me how to breastfeed properly. Two minutes later, my husband opened the curtain and came in with his mother behind him. My husband did not know i was learning how to breastfeed inside but he should have walk out when saw it. The whole time, I was so uncomfortable because my MIL came so closely to watch with my nipple exposed. I was so angry with my husband. I want to hear from you mummies, how would you feel? Now, every time I see my MIL, I feel really awkward. Help i just could not get over this.

- 2024-10-10Hi, my bb is currently 4 months. Previously she can sleep through the night but few days ago she started waking up in the wee hours. Sometimes 3 am, sometimes 4 am, and 5am. She seems to be very tired as she yawns non stop but just can't get back to sleep.
Normally we feed her through the night and she is asleep but now because she is awake, when we feed her she cry non stop and feel so uneasy. I read online this might be sleep regression but I am not sure... any tip how to overcome this?
Because during the day she will be super tired and restless... end up being so cranky...
Thank you...

- 2024-10-11Hey mummies, hope u all dont find my qns silly. I am a FTM. How do u all rinse off your baby soap during bath time? I have only been pumping a tiny bit of shampoo into the bath tub (taught by confinement nanny). Have been doing this when he was a newborn even to now when he is already 4 months old. Want to put shampoo on his body but I'm struggling to figure out how to keep him soap-free when the soap just wash down his body into the bath tub, which he's sitting in.
Also, pls let me know when did u start to put shampoo on ur baby's body? Worry that am i doing this too late? Bc his body has been covered in germs for so long? 🤨
- 2024-10-11Hi
My toddler is 14 months old and went to infant care since she was 5 months.
I am a working mum and need my job to contribute to the family.
Recently I feel that my baby is closer to her teachers than me and she doesn't seem to be so engaged with me when I play with her at home and she seems to feel like she "is being shuttled to different places " at different times. Sometimes I wonder if she knows I am her mother.
Her body language is like telling me" ok, time to meet the teachers , bye bye mum"
When I pick her up from school, she seems lost and took some time to recognise me from the infant care centre window , like telling me" oh, that person is picking me up back home again". This makes me a bit depressed.
Me and hubby spent weekends with her at home or bring her to different places to play, but she spent more time in infant care so that made me jealous.
Every mum wants to spend time with their babies but I still need to work.
I know if I spent the whole day at home with her, she would be bored and I need my peace and rest too.
Can someone tell me what to do?
