some days my bp is normal but some days its high.

- 2024-06-10My first born is 20 months old & I’m almost 7 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. I cut down on carrying my first born and it’s quite disastrous. Whenever my first born sees me, she’ll cry out “mummy carry.” And if I don’t, she’ll cry murder. I’ve been trying to tell her that I still love her despite the frequency to carry her. She rejects other family members carrying her whenever I’m around. It’s actually quite heart breaking to see her cry, so I carry. But the old folks don’t encourage it. And if I carry her, she’ll hug me so tight. Any mummies experienced / experiencing the same? How do you deal with it?

- 2024-06-11Really need some serious advice, and maybe a glass of wine (or two)
So, I've been married to my amazing husband for almost 5 years now, and things are fantastic. But there's a secret I've been holding onto... Before we met, I actually dated his brother, for about a year. It was a really positive experience, and it ended amicably before I met my husband.
Here's the plot twist: The ex-or-brother-in-law has always lived abroad, but guess who just came home two weeks ago? Yep, you guessed it! My ex-boyfriend is back in town! (or is it my brother-in-law is back in town? cryyyyyy). And even though I'm head-over-heels for my husband, there's no denying my ex is still... well... kinda cute.
Now, the question is even trickier - should I tell my husband about my past relationship with his brother? I'm worried it might make things awkward, or even worse, plant a seed of doubt. On the other hand, I believe in honesty, and I don't want any secrets lingering between us. please help me #seriouslyasking #relationship #advice

- 2024-06-11I'm really regretful, Mom, that I rarely paid attention to my baby's mouth... I never cleaned my baby's mouth. Lately, my baby has been getting sick a lot, and it turns out one of the reasons is because of the bacteria and fungi in his mouth...
- 2024-06-11My baby seems perfectly content with their milk, but the moment I try to introduce real food, it's like I'm offering them the moon on a stick (and not in a good way)
Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Here's what I've tried so far:
- scheduled feeding
- eating on high chair
- exciting menus
- sensory play (idk how it's related but everyone told me to stimulate her sensory more often)
Nothing seems to tempt those tiny taste buds! Any tips or tricks for getting my baby on board with the exciting world of real food?
Bonus points if you know:
How long is it typical for this "solids aversion" to last?
Are there any signs I should worry about (beyond the epic food fights)?
Thank you very much
- 2024-06-11Hellooo! So.. I had my scan done on my lmp 7wks but ultrasound showed 5w2days in kkh, and I'm really worried because the size also was quite small and cannot see the fetal pole. The next appt they could schedule for me is 7 WEEKS after my first scan! Because of my gynae's availability... Is there any way I can book for a scan separately without having to do a consultation with my gynae and being tied to her availability? So I can do it earlier.
- 2024-06-11Hi Mummies,
My boy is turning 15 months soon and from past 2 days he is refusing to drink milk before going to bed. Is this normal ?
Till now he used to drink 120 months formula before going to bed. I usually give him milk after dinner. But suddenly now he refuses to drink milk.
Any mummies faced this? What shall I do ? Is this normal growth path for toddlers ?

- 2024-06-11Hi mamas! I’m currently 13w+4d and just had my 12w scan last week - all seems fine, sonographer mentioned no abnormalities detected and baby is in the right size for the gestational age (Praise God) and I also did the Igene NIPT test.
Was reading my copy from the sonographer and it stated there that my placenta is anterior. Any mamas having an anterior placenta here?
I read up a bunch of articles and medical journals stating that it’s nothing to worry about but would feel lesser movements from baby. Please share your experience - anxious first time mama here.
- 2024-06-11I'm starting to get worried on my baby's feeding. She's going to be a month old in 3 days time. Started to feed baby 90mils of formula milk. At times i would mix bm with formula. She's been drinking half way through, have to force her to drink up the milk as per dr advise due to her weight from 1.8 dropped to 1715kg. As much as i want her to finish her milk, I can't help it. She's been rejecting milk after probaby around 50mils of intake while feeding. She's bottle fed since birth as she's been warded in High D ward for 2 weeks after birth. So after her 50mils intake, she doesn't want anymore of her milk, instead she kept on drinking abit, cried out loud and push the bottle out of her mouth. Any mommy experiencing the same issue?

- 2024-06-12My daughter was forced to squat outside Kopitiam Vivo City for eating cupcakes as " NO OUTSIDE FOOD" policy in Kopitiam... and we bought food.
We had a very disappointing experience at Kopitiam Vivo City. Despite buying food (Bobo Chacha and Tau Suan) from Kopitiam, my 4-year-old daughter was forced to squat outside with her cupcakes while my wife and I took turns keeping her company while the other gobbled down the hot desserts. The Kopitiam Steward rigidly enforced the "NO OUTSIDE FOOD" policy, citing potential job loss if he showed compassion. I do not blame him as he is doing his job and making a living.
I'm bemused by the policy's inflexibility and very upset by the treatment of my daughter. I question the double standard, as others brought in bottled water without issue. What about mothers feeding their babies milk or toddlers being fed home cooked food? Will they be chased out too? Even when the parents bought food in Kopitiam?
Thankfully, McDonald's showed kindness by offering my daughter a seat. Kopitiam, please reconsider your policy and show empathy for families with young children. I hope you'll make amends.
I am writing in this community page or post as I do not think giving constructive feedback to @Kopitam.SG privately will have any response.
Am I as a parent is overreacting or do you think Kopitam policy is just too rigid

- 2024-06-13Hello moms! I recently got my blood test result back and turns out I have a low red blood cell count. I’m supposed to see my gynae in a week’s time for review of those results and NIPT result.
But would like to know if there are any tips to increase red blood cell count by changing diet, instead of just depending on iron supplement?
I also have a fear/phobia of swallowing pills/tablets/capsules, so any clue if gynae can prescribe some sort of iron supplement in the form of liquid?
Thank you in advanced!

- 2024-06-13As your beautiful bump continues to grow in this amazing second trimester, it's important to be mindful of certain activities.
What activities might be best to avoid for a healthy pregnancy?
- 2024-06-13Went for my first scan 2 days back. According to the doctor, the size of baby is at wk5 of pregnancy. She said that it is not accurate yet as the scan is not clear.
Was told that there were water sacs around, and the chances of miscarriage were very high still.
She prescribed me with Dydrogesterone for 4 weeks.
These 2 days, I'm feeling so uncomfortable and pale. I cannot go about doing my daily activities at all. I spend most of my time sleeping it away.
Is it normal? Should I go for a second opinion check somewhere else?

- 2024-06-13Hi mummies, I'm having a some depression due to weekly arguements with my husband. He refused to go for counseling with me as couple and tells me to go myself cos he said I'm the problem. Some of the arguements he even mentioned divorce or abortion. I'm at 22 weeks now. The recent gynea check Dr said there's a weak blood flow to my baby and prescribed me aspirin. While we had been arguing nearly everyday, there's no movement nor kicks from my baby as I've been crying everyday. I'm abit worried if all this is affecting my baby but the husband says I think too much. Any opinions on this? Does all this arguments really affect my baby growth and flow?

- 2024-06-14Has anyone experience this before? Do they last throughout? My LO suddenly wants to be held all the time. Cnnt be put down on the mattress or in her cot. Have to always swing and shhh her to help her settle. Im exhausted :(
- 2024-06-14I'm trying to understand myself better and I hope that there are mothers who can guide me through this plight.
Eversince I gave birth to my second child, I experienced PP rage and an absolute disconnect towards my firstborn.
It seems like an out of body experience. Each time I scold her or hurt her, It's as if I cannot control myself. I just lash out but then I will come to my senses and apologise to her.
I don't think I'm tired because my second has been quite a breeze since 2 months.. often I have to wake her up for feedings or else she just sucks her thumb and MYOB. Now that my secondborn is 4 months the my PP rage seems to have died down BUT yet I still feel the disconnect towards my firstborn. I don't feel genuine it feels so awful that the feeling I once doted her and could cuddle her with love, I don't feel that anymore. It sucks.
What should I do?

- 2024-06-14Hi all, from the chart, fetus size should be around 1.6mm but I don’t see any bump yet. Some mummies mentioned they can feel heartbeat but not for me as well.

- 2024-06-14Hi! First timer mom here, wondering if anyone have the same experience as me in early weeks of pregnancy wake-up at 6/7am and week7&8 wake up 3am for no reason....anything can help to sleep through the night?
- 2024-06-14Currently I am in my 20 weeks, first time pregnancy. I am usually a light sleeper, easily affected by noise. Moreover, if my husband get really exhausted, he snored quite loud and it further preventing me not able to sleep at night ! The more I tried to sleep the more I hear him snore the more alert I get and cannot sleep . I get really stressed and worried for my health and of course of baby ! How do you all manage ?
- 2024-06-15Hello. Any advice please?
My baby (2 months) MUST be held to sleep.. even after she slept, she will cry when we tried to put her down on the cot or bed. Unless she's sleeping really soundly, then we will be able to put her down. Even if so, she will wake up very fast, didn't nap more than 30mins.
This only happens in the day though. At night she can sleep longer in the cot.
- 2024-06-15Hi mummies! First time mom here. My baby is transverse all along my pregnancy and was head down at Week 34/35. However, during my Week 37 appointment, my baby decided to be transverse again 🙃 Yes, I could feel her head at my left side 😂 I am doing all sorts of breech exercises currently before my appointment on 19 June. I have a scheduled c-section on 20 June. Just need an opinion on this.
Should I:
1) Wait for labour to kick in and pray that my baby is head down then? To note: If still transverse, it is probably gonna be an emergency c-section. Another thing, my gynae warned me that once my water bag broke, do not waste time and rush to the hospital as there are risk of the cord harming the baby.
2) Scheduled a c-section on the next week (as honestly we are not prepared for the 20 June one), but my regular gynae will be on leave :/
I am aware that c-section’s recovery period is harder compared to normal vaginal birth. And an elective c-section is better than an emergency one cause your body is not going though contractions. I really, really need other mummies’ opinion on this as I have been a nervous wreck for the past few days 😭

- 2024-06-15Just feel so bad about myself seeing how much weight I’ve gained in just a couple of weeks, my face is significantly rounder, my arms have gotten bigger, my clothes no longer fit and I look like I’m 5 months pregnant when I’m barely 3 months. Worried I’ll gain too much in my pregnancy and have a difficult time losing weight, I also read that it’s commonly expected to only look pregnant after first trimester so I feel so out of place.

- 2024-06-15Hi all. My 4 months LO fell from bed (~ 70cm) yesterday, head knocked on floor. Observed him and he seems ok, activity all normal, feed also ok. No vomiting. There's blue black at the right side forehead where he fell and hit his head.
However, today I noticed that his left side forehead seems to have a bump as well. It's slightly soft when touched. I didn't notice it there yesterday. Currently he's still behaving as per usual.. should I continue to observe or should I bring him to see doctor? :( #firsttimemom #baby #advice
- 2024-06-15Hi Mummies!
Anyone had or currently having GDM while preg? Bcos I have GDM now.
My qn is, does your glucose readings always remain within the range or fluctuates i.e sometimes so good, sometimes so-so.
And what about near the end of preg, does the readings still fluctuates?
Thank you Mummies!
- 2024-06-15Im planning to mix feed my baby with bm and fm. Reason for this is to top-up in case my supply falls short. Then subsequently feed him fm every night before bedtime. My boy just turned 3 months and i recently fed him with bm + lactogen. He drank all but the next day he had constipation. So that's when i know the brand doesnt suit him or he probably doesn't take mix feeding well. But i wanna try again with a different brand. Any recommendations?

- 2024-06-15Hi everyone, my son is 9.5 months old, but he still doesn’t respond to his name when we call him. He can hear noises coz he turns to look at the main door whenever it opens or closes.
I read that by this age he should already respond to his name. Should I be concerned? What else can I do to help him?
- 2024-06-15This is a great smaller pail and shovel set that is perfectly sized for infants and toddlers. It’s made of good quality, thick plastic which seems unlikely to break unlike many beach toys.
- 2024-06-15They are high quality and made of a durable plastic
- 2024-06-15Hi mummies, I'm at my week 40+2 now and having backaches while walking, showering and even sitting down. Wonder is it a sign of labour? I have no commonly known labour symptoms yet. #FTM
- 2024-06-15Hi, understand we can use our own (ie mother’s) medisave to claim some of our prenatal and delivery expenses.
Are we able to tap into our husband’s medisave to further reduce the expenses too? I will be delivering at TMC :) thanks
