- 2023-02-20I noticed that my 12 month boy likes to bite my shoulder when i carry him. I have a few bites marks. He doesnt do it with anybody else, only me. Is this normal behaviour? Does anyone experience this?
- 2023-02-20My husband is very nice man and we didn’t have premarital sex during our 3 years of dating . Now that we are married , I realise he does not have much experience in bed and reflects a big contrast oppose to mine to the extend I do not enjoy the deed anymore like how I used. Now I feels like a task instead as we are trying to conceive, we do not do it leisurely but we do it when I am ovulating and to be honest it’s not a good feeling. I wonder if this is normal or has anyone experiencing the same situation ? How should I hint him to get more involve in making love during our daily lives .#advicepls

A few times i almost experienced blackout when walking and had to sit down quickly. Is this common for the rest? Could it due to low blood pressure?

- 2023-02-20Hello mummies, wonder if anyone face the same problem as me during breastmilk expression. I have clots in my ducts and to express the milk, i had to massage while expressing it and it took me almost an hour to empty my breasts/not feel clot each time. I tried massaging it before expressing but it does not help as much as massaging it while expressing. Did you face the same problem or what other problems you face and how to resolve it?

- 2023-02-20Hello, anyone knows where can I find healthy food in CBD Raffles Place to control my GD ?
- 2023-02-20We live with my parents. My parents like to act like my son is their son. So they’ll just come and grab my baby as and when they feel like it and stay in their room. Now every night they just keep I’m in their room to make him sleep, when I already told them I want to sleep train him and also read stories to him before bedtime. Last night I went down at 8.30pm to collect him back and my dad still dare to question me ‘why so early take him?’
My mum will insist on bathing and cleaning up my boy everyday, and most the time I need to fight to get a chance to bathe my boy. They talk as if this is their son, and whatever I wanna do with him, like read to him, do flash cards with him or do tummy time, they always intervene when my baby starts whining. Even when I let my baby start smelling food and things around him, they say I’m abusing him.
Things improved alittle in the sense that my mum no longer comes up at 4am daily to take him to their room. But When I ask my helper to take my baby back for me on other occasions, or when I tell my helper to do things for my baby, my mum always override me & ask my maid to do otherwise.
They keep questioning my ability to take care of my child even though I’ve proven to them time and again in that can do it. My dad like to make idiotic comments on days that I take care of him when I wfh like ‘oh why your son keep whining? He got sleep meh?’ When clearly my son only whines when he’s hungry, and my son is sleeping whenever I’m with him, so he exaggerates like this infront of my husband and my mum and me & them add on to tell me ‘you see your mum is experienced, won’t have such problems one’. So my dad likes to discredit me and say how well my mum is taking care of him; my mum does things in certain ways with my son so I should follow; he sees me cleaning up my son and he will hover around to tell me what my mum will do and question me; when My boy is crying, I know he’s tired, but they will say he just wants to be carried etc. everytime I wfh, my son sleeps well and takes good naps, but somehow when I leave him to my parents cos I go office on most days, he hardly sleeps.
And my dad is so annoying, he likes to say to my son infront of me when I wfh, ‘wait po po come home then she can clean you up.’ And other remarks as if I’m invisible and as if I am incapable of taking care of my son. Like hello, I can clean my son up myself, tyvm. I’m really annoyed, and our own place is only ready end of this year. Does anyone else here face this issue? Maybe cos my baby is the first and only grandchild to my parents. I mean I love my parents and appreciate that they’re helpful, but sometimes I really wanna take care of my boy. And when I told my sis this, she said I’m unappreciative of my parents. Now I’m starting to bring my son out cos he’s bigger, then my dad and my sis come and attack me and say I’m ungrateful to my mum cos I don’t let her spend time with my son by bringing him out on weekends. I actually feel guilty when they say this, but I really wanna have some family time with my son. Am I wrong; am I being ungrateful for whining like this and wanting to have some alone time with him and my husband?
- 2023-02-20Hi! My husband has not been wanting to have sex with me during my first trimester cause he was scared to hurt me or cause miscarriage. We’re moving to 13 weeks now. And he thinks he can put off sex for 7-8 more months till end of confinement. He assumed every couple was like that. Is it really???? #advicepls #firstmom

- 2023-02-20Hello there! I found out i was pregnant a week ago, unfortunately a few days later i started having cramps and spotted. Went to the doctors, they only found a water bag in my womb. HCG levels was at 69, 48 hours later my HCG levels went up only 6%.
Was sent to the radiologist to scan and was told that i have ectopic pregnancy and need to stop my pregnancy.
Has anyone went through this before? What are the chances of having an ectopic pregnancy again in the future.
- 2023-02-20Hi mommies. Went for my 7 week scan today. Doctor saw 2 sacs. 1 sac is empty and the other sac had embryo and could hear heartbeat.
Doc Said most probably initially it started out as twins but the 1 egg did not fertilise that’s why there’s 2 sacs. I also do not have twins gènes in m’y family Line.
Prescribed me progesta for 1 month, vaginal insert to assist in case there might be light spotting from the empty sac trying to release itself.
Doc Said thé medicine is to help with this. Next scan is 10 weeks
However I feel abit doubtful to have this med. as i was thinking it might affect my healthy embryo and sac?
Did anyone have the same experience before or if thé specific medicine helps with what doc said?

- 2023-02-20Any ladies feeling the same as me when there is not a big bump yet but obviously tighter clothes now especially with pants at belly & buttock areas?
I am into my 6 weeks++ and I don’t feel great when I wear my pants anymore. The belly area is tight, buttock is tight & hugging my thighs & making the pants stuck at my crack. Whole a lot of uncomfortableness ! But the bump is still so tiny that I am not required to slip into maternity clothes yet too..
Any idea what I should do or wear??
It is a cry for help ! Any comments is appreciated 😇❤️

- 2023-02-22Hi Mummy’s, May i know if there is a group chat for EDD July 2023? I am in my early 2nd trimester now. Thank you.
- 2023-02-22Hi mummies. Need some advice regarding my baby.
My baby is 9 months now. since newborn, he is not the kind of baby who will poop everyday. He will usually poop arnd 2-3 days bt they have been times when he pooped once every 5-7 days before he started on solids.
Now that hes on solids, it is still the same but better maybe once every 2-3 days. But his poop is usually hard and almost blackish. He will usually go a bit red when pooping like its hard for him to poop. And sometimes, he will go red but there is no poop.
We do give him probiotics, fruits, massage his tummy and lots of water and milk. Im at my wits end on what to do to help him. Most times his stomach is not bloated and he seems happy and doesnt cry when hes pooping.
We’ve visited diff drs before and their reply is always to give fruits, water which we have been doing but its still the same. Im worried if it can affect him in the long run. Any tips or advices on what else i can do for him? Appreciate on the advices!

- 2023-02-22Anyone experiencing butt cramps?!?
Sometimes cramp till I have to stop walking 😅
- 2023-02-22Third trimester is when the real action comes in. I meant the baby's kicks and pushes from inside longing to see the outside world. Due to space crunch, the baby will accidentally hit, kick, push the belly while moving around because the baby is growing fast now. Mothers are supposed to stay safe and cautious during the third trimester as pre term or early labour can be expected for some. It is good to understand what are the signs to report to the doctor and what are the alarming signs to rush to the hospital immediately. It is important to monitor the baby's kicks. Roughly there should be 5-10 kicks within 30-45 mins after you eat every meal and here and there during the day. It is important to watch your weight, in total gaining about 7-8 kg from your first trimester is safe. Continue keeping a control on sugar and sweets. There will be a glucose tolerance test for all mommies, this is very important because high sugar might cause gestational diabetes in babies so the mothers will be asked to follow a strict diet. The doctor might also give vaccination for whooping cough, flu, Tetanus. Your gynae will start recording CTG during each of your visit in this final trimester to check for contractions, baby kicks and heart beat. Mothers with multiple pregnancy have to be extra cautious. You can start ordering the postpartum and baby essentials now and if you want to go in person better get it done in the start of the third trimester itself, as I mentioned in the previous post, the checklists and planning that you did in the second trimester will be of great help now. Drink lots of water as to keep the amniotic fluid level correct. Here is my journey through the third trimester.
I continued the daily walks, exercises, took the vitamins, iron and aspirin prescribed by the doctor. I felt my digestion to be a bit poor as I got acid reflux after eating so I split my meals into 6. I drank 3.5 litres of water. As days passed, I felt like peeing now and then especially in the night. This is quite common because the growing uterus is pushing against the bladder. I also experienced hard stools now and then so I started to take iron tablet on alternate days for some time and also ate 2-3 prunes daily. I used to boil rice in water and after 3-4 mins when it turns frothy will turn off the flame and drink that water warm. You can add butter to it too. This will help to keep a good level of amniotic fluid and butter will help to keep the passages lubricated. Perineal massage is good too, although I started it only around week 37. You can get help from your partner too. Everyday, I used to apply coconut oil on my belly before bath and Cetaphil moisturiser before bedtime, to keep the skin moisturized and to prevent stretch marks. I used to take a nap of 30-45 mins most of the days. I also faced sleep disturbances in the night due to anxiety, frequent visits to washroom and sometimes for no reason.
Fortunately my glucose levels were in normal limits (I will not forget how much I liked the sweet drink given during glucose tolerance test). My baby's movement was good, she used to kick my belly nicely when I sing, few minutes after my meal and every night when my husband applies Cetaphil on my belly. They were unforgettable memorable moments. We finalized the hospital and filled some forms at my gynae's clinic which were then forwarded to the hospital. We did the pre-registration in the hospital website and also visited the hospital once to check with them about the confinement meal options, admission a d payment related queries etc. There were virtual maternity tours done by the hospitals through videos or zoom sessions which helped to analyse and compare the facilities to finalize one. I will write in detail about our choice of hospital and whether we were right in making that decision, in the upcoming posts.
My gynae had a detailed session with me and my husband to discuss about signs of labour, onset of labour, when to contact the clinic, when to rush to hospital immediately, pain reduction options available and also the complications that could happen last minute which could end up in emergency c-sec and also asked us to sign on the forms to get our consent for her to proceed with the appropriate treatment based on how labor progresses. She also explained about the post labour complications. It was very helpful as it kept us informed of all the possible things that could happen during delivery and how they will be managed.
My best wishes to all mothers to be to have a safe smooth journey through the third trimester. Be positive stay hydrated be strong. Your baby will enter the world very soon.

During first trimester, I was extremely hungry but I was also suffering from MS for 6 months which led me to throw up everything I ate and lose appetite most of the time only eating soft foods after which I couldn’t eat a lot once I entered third trimester because I felt full fast. But recently as I turned 37 weeks, I began feeling hungry constantly again. And baby has has been engaged so I assume that my stomach is free from being squeezed and has more space now. But hubby is complaining I’m eating a lot and I feel so frustrated. Usually my meals are small and I snack a lot. And to top it off, I’m feeling more hungry after 37 weeks. I thought it was normal for pregnant ladies?

- 2023-02-22Hi, I’m currently visiting a private gynec and each time visit is $100 + to $200 +. Like to check where do u all go for follow up consultation. Do I need to get referral from polyclinic to go into hospital?

- 2023-02-22My lo is breastfeeding at 2.5hours rate now. Sometimes i want to pump and let others feed so i can rest. My breast feels full at about 2.5hrs mark, i think its because my body is used to the feeding rate. What can i do to stretch the time for pumping and not affect the milk supply? I am hoping to pump every 4 hours.

- 2023-02-22I am getting a helper and am wondering if I should have her room in with my LO & I? Would if make a difference if I were to bottle-feed or breastfeed?
- 2023-02-22I listened to my husband and sent my LO off to Malaysia for my MIL to take care after he turned 1 month so we could both work in SG. Ended up my hub doesn't work at all, always giving excuses when I find job for him. He just go out to play fishing all day. My son's expenses are $1k a month, and my MIL said its still not enough. I am the only one financing and I feel very depressed. My friends asked me to stop his LTVP and make him a WP so he could work and understand my hardship. I don't know about that and need some advices #advicepls #pleasehelp #firsttimemom
- 2023-02-22Hi, my wife and I have been going to private gynae for all the prenatal appointments. And has plan to give birth and KKH (natural w/ epidural). Anyone plan to do the same and for those that have went thru the same, how much roughly are the cost for before subsidies, after subsidies and remaining to pay? Thank you in advance!!

- 2023-02-22I jus wan to grumble abt my SIL, they owned a 5 rm flat but rather leave it vacant and squeeze in a 3rm flat with us. Reasons given so that PIL can help to look after her baby.
I feel she really take for granted. 100% House chores done by PIL, 90% of the time baby take k by PIL, she ALWAYS hide herself in the room play with her hp...such kind of SIL, my goodness...can someone slap her face plSsss!
Always act blur, even her baby cry she also dont bother to look at him, from change diaper to shower, everything done by PIL..she is not working now, evryday do nth at home, sleeping or hide herself in room play hp.. cant stand with her attitudes but i cant tell her at her face.. Sigh duno what to do... staying with this kind of SIL....

- 2023-02-22As the name suggested, what do u guys eat for breakfast if u wake up with acid reflux? I have this everyday, trying different option but ugh it doesnt seem to get better. Every morning wake up with sour mouth and nausea but no vomit.
I tried hot milo and even cold milk but why nothing seems work in my favour ☹️☹️☹️
The vomit is very random though, could be in the morning or night and pretty sure caused by the acid

- 2023-02-23I went to check last week like to confirm on the pregnancy at the clinic and they just gave the the test kit to try and like literally confirm it is….. then they ask me whether I need help in contacting any gynae. So I am like ya of course it will be even good if u could book an appointment for me coz I have no exp. But he only gave the referral letter and ask me to go myself…? It’s funny that the letter cost $ too. He told me to go like during week 11-12 like that. This makes me more confusing …. Coz I though like we need to have blood test & hcg checks? I am also wondering if whether to go for kkh or sgh for now…. #advicepls #firsttimemom #firstbaby
- 2023-02-23I'm 12 weeks now with my first child but suddenly all my pregnancy symptoms eased up. I don't feel so nauseous anymore. I feel more energetic and I can eat better. The lack of symptoms makes me worried that I'm not pregnant. Is this normal? I do get the occasional tailbone pain still. It comes in waves, probably due to the release of hormones every now and then. But otherwise, I really feel OK. OH, and I sometimes feel abit crampy on my uterus muscle. Feels like sometimes a muscle has been stretched... That kind of sensation but it's not painful. Should I be worried??! I can't help but to feel worried.
- 2023-02-23Hi mummies, need help. What do u prepare for ur toddler first day of school ? My daughter is 3 years old and starting school soon in March for N1 . What items must i pack for her to bring to school everyday? Do i need to pack toothbrush and small towel too? As my daughter is still on pampers. She is not ready to potty training.

- 2023-02-23I am thinking of getting a hands free pump like BeNude from baby express, instead of the usual hospital grade Spectra, Medela etc.
Is a hands free pump sufficient for the first few weeks in and out of hospital?
Heard the first few days in hospital need to use manual pump, nursing time for first few months needs the hospital grade electric pump and back to work needs a handsfree.
I don't want to spend on so many types and I think hands free will suit me best, but not sure of its efficacy.

- 2023-02-23Hi mummies, I’m 7 weeks pregnant and I haven’t been eating well. Everytime I thought I’m gonna be full from eating a meal, I’ll just puke everything on the last few bites. Poly doctor refuse to give me anti-nausea pills but managed to get some from a tele-consult doctor. I have to take the pills on an empty stomach but i rarely get nauseous when I’m not eating unless there are triggering smells. Any advice on this? I’m hungry all the time now :(

- 2023-02-23Soon after delivery I had very bad hairfall I was going through it for 5-6 months. It was worrying me on top of the other first mom duties and responsibilities. That's when I searched online for good shampoos specifically for postpartum hairloss and to my luck I found Mama's choice. I started using the shampoo 1-2 times a week and after a month itself I could see significant results. Highly recommended to mothers-to-be and mothers who are facing the same problem. Good to use with Mama's Choice conditioner
- 2023-02-23I struggled from postpartum hairloss for about 5-6 months and it was worrying me so much. I searched online and found Mama's choice shampoo and conditioner. I even read the reviews from fellow mums and started to use both 1-2 times a week. I could notice significant results after a month itself. Been using it for more than 6 months already. Thank you Mama's Choice. Highly recommended.

- 2023-02-23Hi! I was blessed with no morning sickness so I thought I was lucky. Until I suddenly got rash on my arm. Then it suddenly spreads rapidly and its all over my body now! The itch is intense and crazy. Initially thought it was hives but when I went to dr, she diagnosed me with PUPPP. It was crazyyyyyyyy especially when the rash triggered. Now thankfully it is flat and smooth now, but I'm left with pigmentation from the rash and all that scratching. Itch has reduced by alot but it is still itchy. Sighhhhhhh.
Anybody experiencing the same? Share your stories please!

- 2023-02-23As much as I tried to eat healthy, sometimes the taste in my mouth make me crave for fast food like mac and kfc. Oh and also like mala hotpot, chinese bbq skewers (crave only but I think I will avoid) But I know the oilyness and high in fat is not healthy for me and baby. Might even make my bloatedness worse. But if i dont eat, i feel lethargic like very sian. Mouth like tasteless. And no mood for other food.
So torn between physical health and mental health haha sorry for the rant. Haha do you mummies face the same issue? I dont rmb how I overcome when I have my #1.

What precautions should I take when visitors come to visit and when they see the newborn? I will not be comfortable with my baby being passed around or kissed and I have no issues telling people off about that and I have already made it clear to my family members on what my boundaries are. - 2023-02-23Hi all, my first gynae appointment will be in March. My period was about 2 weeks late, I then took a first pregnancy test last weekend and it showed positive, took a second one on Wednesday and it showed positive too. After the second test, I had some spotting the day after. Started with streak of bloody discharge, then followed by dark brown spotting. Woke up at 1am today to only feel more blood. Not enough to soak a pad but enough to soak a liner. Is this miscarriage? I would honestly say the bleeding is quite heavy compared to spotting. I’ve had spotting before for my previous pregnancy but nothing like this.
- 2023-02-24Is it bad to let your infant watch kids' shows on TV? My husband says to stop believing whatever the internet is saying. Where got kids don't watch TV and affect their learning. Nowadays it's hard to avoid screening time. Everywhere is electronic devices as I need to WFH and multi-task with baby. I read online they recommended after 18months. I really don't know what to do about this. #advicepls #pleasehelp #firsttimemom
- 2023-02-24yesterday was my 38th week gynae appointment and was asked for consent whether or not i want my cervix to be checked. i consented and went ahead because i wanted to know if i am progressing.

any experience mums knows how fast i can dilate and that i am 1/2cm? any possibilities of being 1cm already when i got active yesterday as well? - walking and dancing.

- 2023-02-24Hi working mummies that sent your child to infant care, just wondering do you guys knock off on the dot usually to pick your LO up? or even if your husband picks up, would you all want to go home as soon as you can to spend time with them?
I just changed a job and I always leave on the dot to be home as soon as I can to help out my husband as well, to feed, bathe and put our LO to sleep. Cos i know it’s hard to take care with just 1 person too. Also because my LO sleeps really early on weekdays 7.30-8pm ish due to insufficient rest in school. So i just want to spend that short hours with him before he sleeps too.
But i feel in the new workplace, there is a lot of judgement like i am obligated to OT, go socialise after work etc. but family is my priority, and I still log in to continue my work from home after my LO sleeps, and its been mentally exhausting.
Just wondering how you guys managed it? 😔#firsttimemom #FTM

Example, when baby stand unstably and fell, he will made remark as to why didn't I stop her? Why are you so inattentive toward her? Don't you know what she wants? Also, we are all near the baby and he doesn't even try to stop himself! I have never criticised him when baby fell under his watch. I am so freaking piss off and so tired hearing this on and on. - 2023-02-24My boss is not a bad person to begin with. But somehow my working experience get weirder and weirder everyday
He goes around telling majority of our suppliers that I’m pregnant when I don’t have the intention to tell any of them. Cos I don’t see a need. And I think it’s not morally right to tell others about staff’s personal life. I don’t personally know all these suppliers and I don’t deal with them often/directly.
Then when supplier has illogical request like resending the same email (which was already done), my boss simply blames it on my pregnancy telling those suppliers “bcos she’s pregnant, it’s unavoidable that she will be forgetful and makes mistakes.”
Like Whhuutt?!?! Is it even fair that he blames it on my pregnancy?
I tried to tell him what really happened regarding the email thing but he didn’t want to listen. And he’s always making remarks like “it’s ok to forget, you are pregnant” or “I try not to ask rely on you for the data bcos you are pregnant”
Somehow he just made me feel that being pregnant was a mistake and that I will definitely compromise my work. I feel so upset. I want to work so that I can be financially independent but he’s making it tough. The mental stress is real.

- 2023-02-25Stretch marks generally show up when skin stretches beyond usual and again comes back to its normal state. Sometimes this might happen during weight gain or weight loss. It is very common in pregnancy. But we can try to minimize them or avoid them by following certain practices. However there is a chance for stretch marks to appear even after following the best practices, a woman should feel proud about it as these are signs of motherhood. Here are some tips to reduce/avoid stretch marks.
1. Lubrication is absolutely essential for the skin. So apply oil (coconut/almond) on your tummy from your first trimester itself. You can do this before bath.
2. Apply moisturizer or stretch marks cream after bath
3. Apply stretch marks cream before bedtime and gently massage your tummy
4. There are belly masks available to put it on the tummy and stay for 15 minutes and then remove
5. Keep your skin moisturized
Please check the pictures of the stretch mark lotion/cream/tummy butter that I used and recommend. My best wishes to all mommies-to-be to have a smooth pregnancy and boastfully feel proud of stretch marks even if you get any.
