Not breastfeeding, baby on formula
- 2023-12-11Hi experienced mommies,
Just wondering if Mt A allows you to bring your own breast pumps?
Read some old threads that said that Mt A doesn’t allow use of personal pumps.
Also, are we allowed to bring our own BB bottle & request for the nurse to feed baby with their own bottle (assuming mix formula feed)? Will they wash and sanitize for us?
Thanks in advance.

- 2023-12-11Anyone has experience caring for LO while you are c+? My husband and I just tested positive and we are worried for our LO as he is only 2mo☹️
- 2023-12-11Taking care of a newborn is tiring, and husband is working, so MIL comes over every morning and afternoon to help. However, she takes all the baby bonding jobs only - such as feeding, playing and carrying baby, and everything else dirty or out of the scenes is done by me (she asks me to do) - such as making milk, bottle washing, laundry, housework, diaper changing, wrapping baby in swaddle, making the baby bed, cutting baby nails, settling all the poop leaks etc. During diaper change, she will sit beside and talk and entertain baby while i change. After changing diaper for baby, mil will carry baby away to bond, so I don't have time to bond with baby also... Feels like I am "returning" baby to mil...
Now my baby is so close to her but not me, he allows my mil to carry him and cries when I do, doesn't smile much at me or talk to me but smiles at her. I feel like my mil is the mother and I am just a maid...
By the end of the day I am also very tired and my husband also helps by taking all the baby bonding job and I do all the behind the scenes. I get very little time to bond with the baby. The only time when I bond with baby is when I breastfeed in the middle of the night. My baby wakes up once or twice in the motn and I breastfeed and put him back to bed that's all. But baby is drowsy and environment is dark, so he probably doesn't recognize me. And I want him to sleep so I ignore him when he tries to talk to me. I actually do want to talk to him so I feel sad when ignoring him.
What should I do? I do need the help, but I am jealous that my mil is getting more affection and bond with my baby and i dont?

- 2023-12-11hi parents, i observed that my baby has been trying to sit up up (shows signs like chin and arms reaching forward) when he’s resting on a pillow. so i helped my LO to try and let him balance and sit on his own. surprisingly, he was able to balance for a while and i didnt try to let him sit for too long. i also took a video to show to my in-laws and was kind of reprimanded not to let him sit and wait till LO is ready.
am i hurting my LO for making him sit..?
- 2023-12-11Hi, any mummies know if this is amniotic fluid leaking or normal discharge. Looks slightly pale yellow/green, not sticky, definitely not milky white & it comes out when I sit down or after washing up when I pee. #advicepls #firstmom
- 2023-12-11so end of year, the old teachers resign, principal resign, then also changing classes and shifts for the ifc teachers.
today afternoon shift was all the "new" teachers and they cannot handle my girl who has been there since she was 2 months old. now 5 months already.
today I pick her up, she crying, I just hold her and she stopped. but when I peeked in the window, they stuffed a blanket to her face and put her in the rocker to force her to sleep, when she crying so loudly. then they informed me that even though they just fed her 1 hour ago, they thought she hungry so fed her again, but she never stop crying, then they put the oil for the stomach cause thought she stomach pain but also didn't stop crying . .. last time the teacher will put pacifier but I guess they never pass the information, last time also teachers will carry awhile... but ok new teacher I just smile and say its ok, first day , they got to learn.
then while I teaching my.husband how to use the carrier with the baby outside the center, we heard the 3 teachers with one kid still inside waiting for the parent, they quarreling very loudly. With one teacher scolding the other two the. they shouting.. I mean obviously , I feel the last kid sure traumatised...
I feel I should say something but also not sure about it and to whom as well..
usually bb gurl come home will sleep immediately, but today, sleep alrdy then will cry very loudly when lights off and need to console , carry here and there half an hour and leave lights on, till she falls asleep.. I feel maybe she also traumatised by the new teachers way of handling her.
Do you guys think I should say something to the morning teachers? or confront the afternoon teachers or wait a few days and see the situation?
I don't know who more traumatised, my baby or my husband who usually don't pick her up, but clearing leave this end of year, so he is surprised to see her like this in the evening. And feels that the teachers traumatised her...

- 2023-12-11Hi parents my baby having hard time sleeping, My baby is 1 month 26 days and this few days she only sleep less then an hour then wake up and stay awake for hours and this have been happening for the past few days, she currently exclusive breastfeeding and she not latching long enough like usual(usually 20minure now like 5min every 2-3hr) she wanted to sleep but she hvaing hard time. nor day or night she cant sleep, and shes not hydrating enough Im confuse, me and my husband couldn't get enough sleep because of the baby we tried everything we could , changing her clothes, environment, bed , diapers and all, any advice that could help me resolve this matter ? Thank u #advicepls #pleasehelp #firstmom #babysleep #babynoteating
- 2023-12-11When I wanted to get a confinement nanny my MIL was so resistant to it. She does not like strangers in her house and is paranoid about thief. She said she can help with taking of baby and doing some night shifts. So when baby came earlier than expected, I did not get one. She is happier that I didn’t get one.
Now 2 weeks in, she has not done a single night shift. I just mentioned to her yesterday that her son is very tired. But she has not done anything yet. She does day duty and it’s not much cos everyone know nights are the toughest. Think she might not be confident w dealing with baby. But she has always said she has loads of experience and she did take care of 3 of her sons on her own and baby sitter to tonnes before.
Just ranting. Thoughts of getting a helper and that will make her more uncomfortable 🤣
- 2023-12-11Anybody’s baby sleep more/longer after sending to IFC? Idk what theyre tired from 😂 and he’s only 2.5months.
I realised after baby started IFC, he tend to sleep longer after school. Like i would pick him up at 5 or so, after his milk at 5+ or 6pm, he would play abit then gets sleepy then sound asleep until very early morning 2/3am or even can go until 5+am then wake up for milk. Technically didnt ask for milk for 12hrs and sleep for like 10hrs or so.
Is this normal? Cause based on his weight, he should be drinking 800+ml a day but now only 600ml since he skip alot of night feeding time. Im scared he would be dehydrated or malnutrition. Altho he’s still gaining weight and doesn’t look like in pain or anything.
I dont wish to increase his milk intake just yet as im scared he would puke out alot. He’s drinking 120ml/2.5 - 3hrs during the day.
Cause prev before starting IFC, he would go longer stretch of sleep at 8-11pm. Then would wake up every 3-4hrs for milk.
- 2023-12-12Just wondering, would baby learn to flip once their neck is stronger and lift up their head 90 degrees during tummy time ? Or they can still learn to flip on their own while their neck still strengthening?

- 2023-12-12Hi moms. May I know, how many of you went past your due date with gestational diabetes? Wanna know how many days overdue is safe.
Currently I'm 40 Weeks & 2 day.
Also, do we need to bring our own glucose device on the day of delivery?
Tia
*Update: Gave birth at 40+5 weighing 3864g.
Baby didn't want to come yet so I went to the delivery suite to get induced but was already at 4cm so they had my waterbag broken instead. Had baby close to 3hrs later after breaking waterbag.

However, im wondering if soup with rice wine is ok to consume? Cos im thinking if the alcohol would have evaporated after cooking?
But honestly i don’t know.
Anyone ate cooked food that uses rice wine during pregnancy?
I do crave for that beehoon soup but i dont dare to eat 🥲

- 2023-12-12I just got tested positive for covid for the 2nd time and my husband too has a faint line. However we have a newborn baby, not breastfeeding.
Can i still care for him without isolating? Wear mask and sanitise. I can’t bear myself to part from my baby even if it’s just different rooms (we staying with parent, no extra room also) 😔😣
How do you positive mummies do? Do you still care for your baby and does your baby still get it and hows the symptoms for babies? Is it very bad?

- 2023-12-12Hello friends
Today we went for the FA scan and the doctor has told us that our baby has ARSA. This seems to be normal in 1-3% adults. Other than ARSA, absolutely no other issues identified in the scan. Later we also rushed to a pediatric specialist who did full ECHO of the baby heart and there also no other issue noticed.
We did NIPT test before in 13th wk and that was also low risk for all. 13wk NT scan also low risk.
We have a big decision ahead of us. Weather to do amniocentesis test or not to confirm 100%. Any other parents who experienced similar?? Did your doctors recommend you to do amnio test even if nipt was low risk?
- 2023-12-13Has anyone here started thinking about ML planning?
My manager is asking about it. I shared with her in my 1st trimester as I needed to take time off from work to see gynae right after I came back from a 2 weeks holiday. I felt bad about it and thought that it’s better for me to share with her the reasons so that she understands.
Just wondering if anyone here plans to club all types of leaves tgt? I.e 4 months ML + approx 14 ALs + 6 Child care leave altogether to extend the ML? My EDD is 15 July. Thanks

- 2023-12-13Hi, i intend to buy a twin stroller but not sure whether should get the one thats sitted side by side or front n back. I travel mostly using public transport. Which one is better?
- 2023-12-13Just want to rant. Annoyed at how MIL keep asking me to give my baby water. Very damn annoying altho i already told her SO MANY TIMES baby below 6 months cannot drink water, only milk. Whatsmore, my baby is only 2 months.
When baby is sick or hiccups she keep asking to give baby water. Which i obviously have to keep repeating myself cannot.
Old people forever with their olden days or old days.
Partly why i don’t trust her taking care of my baby alone, who knows what she might do to baby behind my back.
- 2023-12-13Hello, i'm due for my 3rd jab for hepatitis vaccination this month and im on my week 10. Was wondering if anyone have any experience to take the vaccination during pregnancy? Is it safe for the baby? Thank you!

- 2023-12-14Hi mummies, I am a FTM and planning to schedule an elective c-section on week 39+1. Do you think it is too late? I am worried that baby will come out naturally before that. Please kindly share your experience. On which week do you schedule your c-section?

- 2023-12-14Hi mummies who didn’t sleep train your babies, my baby is 3 months old and she tends to catnap in the afternoon. I usually have to carry her to pat/sway her to sleep before putting her on the bed. There are times she will remain asleep when I place her down, but most times she wakes up after 15-30mins and she will fuss and I have to carry to pat her again. Sometimes I just carry her for the whole 2-3hrs just so she can have a solid nap.
I’m thinking is it because I didn’t sleep train and she needs me to soothe her to sleep that’s why she catnaps when she’s not in contact with me? Is this a concern? Do they grow out of it? Is there a need for me to sleep train her (I tried doing so but she always cry so hard so I end up carrying her instead)?
- 2023-12-14Hi, I’m in my 29th week and I am thinking to change to private patient just for the labour as I want to have a female doctor to assist with my delivery but how do I make the change?

- 2023-12-14Hi mummies out there, i am all along not producing enough breast milk. My most was 30ml on both sides. (Pumping) But because i got covid so i forgo breastfeeding and pumping altogether. And i did not have any milk coming out when i started pumping for 20mins on each side ytd. i heard direct latching can boost breast milk so i decided to latch my baby. He latched about 30mins total of both sides and he fell asleep right after latching. This confuse me, i barely had milk coming out so im wondering if my milk really came out and did he feel full after he pushed his mouth away from my nipple?

- 2023-12-14hi mummies, my LO is 5mo and i’ve noticed he has been rejecting his milk for a couple of days now and its very frustrating and i worry that he’ll become dehydrated. previously, he would drink 150ml fully every 2-3hrs but now he would just drink around 50-100ml every 4-5 sometimes 6hrs.
i’ve tried changing his bottle teat but it doesnt seem to be the issue— he would just choke and cough on the fast flow of the milk. #advicepls

- 2023-12-14Hi all.

- 2023-12-14Hi parents, my son had his one year old vaccination - MMR on Tuesday. The nurse said that fever will come one week later but he suddenly developed a fever after his afternoon nap today (Thursday). I gave him ibuprofen earlier at 3pm since his fever was 38.8. His fever suddenly spiked to 39.4 and he was almost unconscious. I was so panicked. We gave him cold towel sponges and managed to bring it down to 38.6 now. KKH said that I should bring him down when his temperature is 41 and above. I’m just wondering whether there’s anyone with similar situation. I am monitoring his temperature very closely. This is so worrying.

- 2023-12-14Hi! This is my first pregnancy, we’ve been trying for 2 years. Just had my scan today at 5 weeks 4 days and my doctor cant seem to find baby nor yolk sac. She could only see the gestational sac. Will be coming back again in 2 weeks for another scan but I am very worried that this pregnancy won’t be viable. Is this normal? #pleasehelp #PCOS
- 2023-12-15#ftm Hi all mummies,
I feel marriage is so challenging and i do feel regret for that.
Our differences make me not confident in this marriage. I really don’t know how to continue this.
I know i dont do housework and cooking.
At first, he knows I didn’t do all of these and then now always comparing me to others wife.
Why others people seems like have happy marriage.
- 2023-12-15FTM here.
Anyone have issue with baby refuse to drink milk when she is awake even though she is hungry? She keeps turning the head and will scream, her stomach is so empty as well. So i know she is hungry.
We can only feed her when she is about to sleep, i am afraid this become habit.
It has been going on for more than 1.5 months.
We have changed 3 formula, any idea what should i do mummies? It gets better with friso.
Previously even in her sleep she dont want to drink milk (nan and enfamil)
Should i start puree early? She is 4 months.

- 2023-12-15Hi all, anyone has any thoughts on private vs government infant care? My hubby and I are both working, in laws and parents are also not able to help look after... not much options left. Was suggested to hire helper instead of sending to infant care, but heard a lot of horror stories hence not so keen to hire.
What are your thoughts? Appreciate any response :) thank you.

My husband has been giving our baby screen time and when i tell him at least to limit the time , he said thats rubbish. Im so worried about my bahy's cognitive development #FTM #pleasehelp
- 2023-12-15Random question, anyone actually stayed a little longer, when visiting, even after visiting hours @ KKH? Be it women or children’s ward.
When the patient is your own family eg your baby, but daddy is the one staying over.

- 2023-12-15My 2 weeks old likes sleeping with mouth open. She is breathing well no snore or any discomfort but her mouth is always open when she is in deep sleep. Usually she will have her pacifier but when it drops or when we do not give she will sleep with mouth open. Is it common for newborn to sleep with mouth open? Based on her last pd visit doctor did not highlight any problems and she is not tongue tied as well.
- 2023-12-16Baby is on full formula and he been vomiting yellowish milk out after 1-2 hrs after feeding..
- 2023-12-16Does anyone experience the same thing as me; this is my 2nd pregnancy at 20 weeks while my first born is exactly 12M now. I don't get the morning sickness often compared to my 1st pregnancy. And i am quite paranoid thinking if my pregnancy is doing well, baby is growing well or not because what i learned is morning sickness actually a positive sign that pregnancy is doing well. My last scan was 8 weeks, and the last appt was 14 weeks only able to hear heartbeat but no scan being scheduled. I am paranoid! So is it okay to not have morning sickness 90% of the time?
- 2023-12-16Hi, my baby normally spits up after drinking milk and burping. However, he had been spitting up some yellow liquid with milk for two times today. Does anyone know if I should be concerned about it? Baby is in formula and breastmilk. Both spit ups today are after drinking breastmilk. Thanks in advance!
- 2023-12-16Hi, should i be worried if i noticed a little blood spotting during pregnancy? Im currently in week 8. Just curious as it my first pregnancy.
- 2023-12-16Is it normal for 3 months old to only able to lift up head at 45 degrees for 2-3 min or so during tummy time? Can only lift head 90degree with hands below chest for few secs only
- 2023-12-16Can we let baby sleep slightly tilted to the side so they wont get startled easily ? Aside from using bean sprout pillow
- 2023-12-16i just really wanted to rant because i have no one else to talk to… but anyway, my MIL suggested to take my LO (5mo) from sat-sun— which im fine with because it has been our arrangement since the beginning.
i hate the fact that she does everything behind my back without asking me about what i think first. i really hate it.
in the beginning, when my LO was around 1-2mo, she fed him small amounts of water because he was having a hard time passing motion— WHICH IS NORMAL FOR A NEWBORN AS THEYRE JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT EVERYTHING BY THEMSELVES. and i kind of confronted her about it saying that she shouldn’t, sent her articles that affected other babies and she had the gull to tell me that “it doesnt affect ALL babies” ya sure that may be the case, but its my baby you’re handling, MY BABY AND NOT YOURS.
today, we were in the topic of feeding since i’m a bit concerned about LO’s feedings since he drinks on and off these days, so i was curious if he was feeding well. she mentioned that my LO wouldn’t finish drinking which is fine, my husband and i told her LO is suddenly going through this phase so just let him feed and rest in between and continue. AND SHE BLURTED OUT: “he also can take a bit of puree which is good”
i cant even fathom how angry i am and as im typing this i feel like crying because whenever i voice things out to my husband regarding his mom’s actions he would always tell me to voice it out to her myself and i get so frustrated because HOW CAN A SON NOT TALK TO HIS OWN MOTHER? (i’ve decided not to confront her because we are always in constant miscomm and i get frustrated when she doesn’t understand me, so i would have to ask my husband to rephrase for me in text when texting MIL)
i had it all planned out that we would start feeding him when LO is 6mo. she didnt even bother asking me when i would start feeding solids like… how inconsiderate can someone be? he is my baby.
this is so infuriating for me and i feel so helpless and small.
UPDATE: husband texted MIL earlier, she replied so passive aggressively (lol, not surprised at this point) saying, “ask her full-time take care of baby” like ok? I WOULD LOVE TO DO THAT, provided she doesn’t interfere with me mothering my own son then yes.
at this point, i honestly feel like going no-contact with her and their side of the family. i cant believe someone would be this defensive and just… i dont even have the words to describe how im feeling.
thank you to all the mummies who replied and understood me. i’ve never felt this heard in so long and i appreciate everything said in the comments 🥹

- 2023-12-16Reflux in baby, does it go away on its own as they grow?
- 2023-12-16Hi mummies, ftm here. Until which month do we need to burp our baby? And do they learn to burp themself after that?
- 2023-12-16At which month did your baby stop being startled when sleeping ? Especially without swaddle.
We are training baby to sleep without swaddle as he started infant care, but despite putting bean sprout bag on his tummy/chest, he still get startled every now and then and that sometimes made him wake up or affect quality of sleep/nap.

- 2023-12-16My 2.5yo started hitting her 7months old younger brother whenever she is unhappy with him. Any other parents experienced this & any advice to discipline her? Tried to explain to her that we need to sayang instead of hit & brother will feel pain pain.
Do i need to spend more quality time with her to make her feel loved? Did she reacted that way because i spend lesser time with her?
I hope she will stop hitting her brother before he starts to learn & hit her back too 😪

- 2023-12-16Hello, i was wondering if anyone can share their night time baby responsibilities between husband, yourself and helper after confinement nanny leaves?
I am currently 3 weeks post partum and the confinement nanny has been taking the night time duty of feeding / changing diapers. I just wake up 1-2 times to pump. We trust her because many of my relatives have used her and she is very experienced with new borns
However, our nanny leaves next week and our helper will be coming soon. I don’t feel comfortable letting my helper do the night time feeds / changing diaper as we don’t know her yet. My husband however thinks the helper should do the night job so we can rest at night and let helper rest in the day for about 2 hours
Can anyone share how you handle the night time responsibilities between different people? Thank you!

- 2023-12-16I'm currently under follow up as a private patient and my gynae has suggested that I'll be induced in mid Jan.
I'm not sure if I should remain as a private patient (B1) or drop to subsidised class. Anyone able to share their experience if they drop class?
Also if any mummies just recently gave birth in B1 what is the initial deposit? I tried going for financial counselling but they said it's too early for me to know about the costs
