2023-10-09Hi, I attended antenatal class by KKH recently and we were told that once in labour, we are not allowed to eat anything at all. Only sips of water and ice. Is this true? I do have gastric, and I thought that we could eat while waiting for dilation. How many hours apart should she take the puree or cereal apart from milk feeding? Should I give milk first than 3-4 hours apart than cereal? If puree she’s taking 1-2 table spoons. 2023-10-09Im 38 weeks pregnant & on 37 weeks i went to for my checkup, the doctor told me im 2cm dilated . Also i was bleeding a lot but they sent me home. Now that im already 38 weeks, there's still no signs of labour, just some vagina pain is that normal? 2023-10-09Hi mummies, I’m currently 10 weeks post partum. My breast milk supply is very low only 40ml per 25min pump. I was told by lactation person to pump every 4hrs to maintain long term… I’ve been taking legendary milk supplements since the beginning of breast feeding journey. At 10 weeks, is it possible to increase milk supply? Or my boob really low supply? I’m using spectra dual compact. Could it be the pump? 2023-10-09Anyone have delivered in NUH? What goes on during labour and delivery? I’m a first time mum and I am feeling really nervous. Would like to be mentally prepared.
2023-10-09How to ask or tell for 1 week HL? Im 36+ weeks now, on subsidised route at kk. EDD is just like what? 3 weeks ++ away? I already planned my leaves swee swee but I didnt realise I needed to start earlier because I didnt know I would be in this constant uncomfortable state. Like, legit need to be hospitalized or ask for long MC because Im just tired from walking short distance & back ache, sciatica & pelvis pain & coughing because of heartburn. I know this is normal to have all these symptoms, as long as baby healthy but why not the mother? Mother also needs to be healthy (physically, mentally & emotionally) . Government should give more than 3.6 months of Maternity Leave so that we can start ML at 8 months onwards and not giving us option to start 1 month before EDD. We should be able to be physically,mentally&emotionally ready to go back to work too. This post is honestly a how-to question and a rant since this is my 1st time expecting.

Currently my 13 months old boy is using cetaphil calendula shampoo and for the past few weeks i realised that his hair doens't smell good as before. He have been using this brand of shampoo since newborn as prescribed by a doctor from kkh I'm not sure why but he have a curly hair and sweat very easily as well so please help me out. 2023-10-10Mummies! I suddenly woke up to a gush of blood yesterday morning. Rushed to O&G and dr did a scan and said nothing wrong with baby(thankfully) but provided utrogestan to support the pregnancy. Anyone else going through the same? I'm so stressed up!!! 🥹🥹🥹 The bleeding stopped once i've reached O&G so the dr says technically it's only a gush, she didn't see anymore blood in my cervix. #firstbaby #firsttimemom

2023-10-11Our family currently uses a toyota wish. Family of 6 with one helper. However we are thinking of downgrading to a 5 seater. Reason being, husband is always working seldom tag along. He has his own motorcycle too. Helper prefers to stay home most time. (we have pets at home and she couldn’t be separated from her cat hah) also monthly quite high cuz parf car. would you stick to current car or get a cheaper five seater? Although car may not be essential, at the moment it is to us as we have to send kids to school, appointments and others. School bus charging us $300 per month. Thats more than our petrol😅

2023-10-12My one month old baby has been more fussy during breastfeeding these few days. She will cry even when my nipple is already in her mouth and she refuses to suckle. Or she will keep pushing away at my breast. Or even arching her back. I tried to calm her down before latching again but after a few sucks, she will cry again. What could be the issue? 2023-10-12If your baby if formula fed, how much do they drink for 3 weeks - 1 month old ? My baby boy is taking 60ml every 2-3 hours, but sometimes after feed, he will still be hungry and show hungry cues, should i try increase? Or feed him again like 20ml or so. But everytime after feed, even after burp, he would spit out some milk. So idk if i should still increase or decrease instead #FTM
2023-10-12Any csect mum did not wear binder post partum or during confinement but stomach shrink back. I went thru csect last 3 weeks and my stomach is like 4 months preggy and saggy, i have stopped wearing binder after a week as its too unconfortable and i have yet to start my postnatal massage. Will my stomach shrink back anytime soon.
2023-10-12Not sure because of recently circumcised or this is just a phase. After being circumcised, my baby only want to held even when sleeping. Even when he’s sleeping for quite long but as soon as we place him on his cot, after few minutes he would cry and as soon as we carry him back and soothe him he would fall asleep again. Tried to place him back on his cot, he would cry again. And yes even after being fed, burped, swaddled. He’s 3 weeks old btw. Before this he can sleep peacefully on his cot.

2023-10-12When i was pregnant, ive always dreamt about having the most natural vaginal birth. However due to failed induction i ended up with emergency csect. My worst nightmare came true. Ive always feared that my whole pregnancy. And now 3 weeks PP, I’m still in pain every single day. And I hate this recovery phase so much. Most people already no longer in much pain by 3rd week but im still in pain. Still having trouble turning to my sides when sleeping as i will feel like my stomach and stitches are being stretched and ripped. I feel so sad whenever i see people or my friends who are able to give birth vaginally as the recovery is shorter, and they can conceive without waiting for the 2 years gap. Most of them look even slimmer by few weeks, while here i am, altho petite, i still have this huge saggy stomach. Aside from saggy, its still painful inside out. I just feel so demoralised that i was not able to give birth vaginally and recover faster. 😔😔 Is it normal to feel this way. I still cant accept the fact that i had to go thru csect. I hate the recovery i hate my body so so much and i am still in pain every single day. Every day waking up, i have zero motivation to even live. #FTM

2023-10-12Hi mummies, I am exclusively pumping and attached is a photo of my nipple. Just wondering are these white scabs normal? Is it too dry and do i have to remove them? I dont experience engorgement and I have a good supply of milk. When I pump, there is only one stream of milk spraying out. If I remove the scabs, will it be more efficient for my pumping? I apply earth mama nipple balm after every pumping session, so I am unsure why it's dry. Is it possible that this scab is caused by something else? Please advise mummies, TYIA!!

I think it started wen my 6weeks lo had a long stretch of night mal (3-4h) and i sas also asleep and woke up after 3h and dreamfeed her. Ive been latchimg on demand but has mot seen any increment. Powerpump sometimes nothing cameout on the 2nd or 3rd sesh. My left also not very much. Any advice? Im on oat biscuit for snacks and mama’s choice milk booster. How long will i see an increment? Its hard to pump on day time cuz LO takes shortnap then disrupt my pumping session #pleasehelp #advicepls

2023-10-13I am 3 weeks++ PP, is it normal if csect incision still hurts, on some area ? Esp the middle and ends of incision. Sometimes it feels stretched or stings. And is it normal when we slightly touch or press some area on the incision itll feel hard and more painful than the other area.

2023-10-14My baby has very bad eczema on face and dry scalp. We tried many moisturisers (cetaphil, QV, earthmama, California baby,Aquera, mustela…) and doesn’t help. Anyone has similar issues and can share what else we can do?

2023-10-14Baby is currently 11 weeks old. Previously used to DL for around 20 mins in total per feed but these few days he’s only latching on for less than 10 mins per feed and he will cry and struggle if I try to continue latching him. Is he full already? He’s feeding almost every 2 hourly as per previously. Only 1 bottle feed per day in the motn. Sometimes he just keep latching and unlatching then he refuses to latch further. Any advice please?

2023-10-14How do i know whether Im using the correct flange size? Heard that when using the correct size, pumping should be painless, but my nipples hurt alot whenever i pump I am Exclusively Pumping, currently using Haenim 7V+ Breast Pump, comes with a 24mm flange and free 21mm flange insert. First pic is without the insert, just using the 24mm flange. I have short nipples, so the red line is where my areola ends and nipple starts. Can see that alot of my areola is being sucked so I suppose this size is too big right? Second pic is with 21mm insert. But I cannot see my nipple while pumping so how do I know its the right fit? It is still a little painful when i pump with the insert. Third Pic is how my nipple looks like after pumping with 24mm Flange. Forth Pic is how my nipple looks like after pumping with 21mm Flange Insert. Fifth Pic is how my nipples look before pumping. Dont know if the 3rd/4th/5th pics are helpful but just putting it here in case! I have measured my nipples and they should fit 21mm, but the lactation consultant at my hospital after deliver told me I am a 24mm. Hoping to get advice here first, thank you mummies!
2023-10-14My baby is 2.5 mth old. We let her wear mittens on and off as she likes to run her face when she cannot sleep. May I know when should I remove the mittens permanently so baby will not be too reliant on them? I want Baby to feel objects using her own hands (sensory) not mittens.#pleasehelp #advicepls
2023-10-14Anyone experienced bad cramps at week 37? Mine happens mostly at night and I couldn't sleep at all due to the bad cramps. Its a combination of tightening of the tummy and lasted for an hour plus. I could manage to only sleep for an hour before awaken by cramps again and couldn't go back to sleep as the cramps is there for another hour or so. Also, it accompanied with tummyache which I went (not constipation and not diarrhea). No bleeding, water bag didn't burst. Last week went to gynae and was told that I am not dilated yet.
