2023-08-14Hi fellow mummies! I’m currently at 13 weeks but my gynae has not given me any prenatal vitamins to take yet. I’ve only seen my gynae at KKH once - the other appts were to do tests. So far, I’m taking folic acid and trying to eat foods that are good for the baby. Did anyone experience the same with KKH’s gynae? Is it normal not to be prescribed prenatal vitamins? Am thinking to ask for them during my next gynae appt.
2023-08-14I had 1 session of lactation massage and it helped to unclog some lumps, had an increase supply afterwards but it only maintained the same amount of BM. For Spectra S9, used massage mode for 3 mins and expression for 20mins. Pumped every 3 hours. Hope to get some help! 🥲

2023-08-14I’ve been making partial payments every time I get my pay on every month 20th, and I just paid about $100 plus few weeks back, I’ve paid over $700 since March and I have about $400 plus outstanding, which I’m paying monthly bit by bit, we have blady Medisave which stupidly only can be claimed after the baby is delivered! Today I just came for my fetal scan which was arrange by the doctor due to my weight gain which was important, I was told that they will reschedule my appointment after my bill is paid and was told to leave. As I’m walking out, they called me back for the scan, I said you just asked me to leave! Seriously being pregnant is Singapore is f’ed up. What’s the point of having a blady Medisave and it can’t be used for prenatal cares during prenatal visits. Being pregnant is already tough, and people make pregnant women life even tougher. If so why should we even come for appointments, ask them not to give appointments then! Let them be held responsible for whatever that might happen to our baby. ALSO they’re SUPER RESPONSIVE TO THE EMAILS WE SEND! I’ve sent a few emails and have never gotten ANY REPLIES!
2023-08-14Dear Mommies, Brief Background, actually opt for natural birth. However when the time of delivery due date, at the last minute you are required to do Csect instead due to breach position of the baby. Moreover, the hospital charge both natural birth (1st opt) & Csect together. 😣 BTW, Mount E charging~~.. has anyone encountered that situation?

2023-08-14I just changed to private gynae @ KKH at 35weeks, and my next appointment is at 38weeks++, is it a normal interval ? As i thought after 35 weeks is usually every 1-2 weeks. (So far baby growing well) The gynae mentioned the next appt will be cervix check. #FTM

2023-08-14Hi mummies who delivered or will be delivering @ KKH, exc those that have scheduled csec or induction, is booking or ward type be done during admission itself when you go to hospital for delivery ? Does it apply same for private patient ? As i heard some mummies did their preadmission @ 36 weeks onwards, but my gynae (private gynae kkh) told me booking of wards can be done on the day of delivery itself during admission. But im scared by then the ward (A1 ward) that i want will be fully booked. #FTM

2023-08-14Hi mummies, i just read few post here which i didnt know it works this way. For KKH. Does it apply for both subsidized and private patient ? Heard that gynae will only come in once we’re in active labour, or ready to give birth. Other than that, we will only be attended by random nurses. Is this true ? What if we’re almost fully dilated but our gynae still not there ? #FTM

2023-08-15I was diagnosed with GDM (failed 1st hr by 0.3mmol) and now I find it harder to maintain my blood sugar especially after meals. According to KKH after meals should be below 6.6mmol but I'm hanging around 7-7+ I'm now week 33 and will the spike cause any harm to my baby? 2023-08-15Hi, just had my 28 weeks ultrasound scan earlier today at KKH. During the scan, the doctor pressed my tummy too hard and was quite rough, now my tummy feel cramp. Does anyone experienced the same thing? Should I tell them not to press so hard next time? #FTM

2023-08-15Newborn is 13 days old. Have read a few articles here and there. Some would say it’s okay to introduce since birth. Others- wait until 3 weeks or even 1 month. My only concern is nipple confusion. & of course I want the best for my baby. Although she already have issues turning in at night unless comfort latched- which I don’t mind.

2023-08-15Hi, FTM here. My little one is now 5 days old, and I've been breastfeeding him for about 20-25mins per breast every feeding. He seems satisfied each time but there are occasions when I can't get him to feed on the other breast after 20min because he's really sleepy, so my confinement nanny would top up an additional 60ml of expressed breastmilk and he actually finishes the bottle. We've not done this previously at the hospital and I noticed he started to throw up milk today. Is this a sign of overfeeding? He also gets hungry quicker, and my nanny has been handing him to me for feeding every hour or so. It made me so tired that I've told her to feed him formula after 12mn but I'm feeling so guilty...

2023-08-16Context: I've exhausted all my sick leaves from earlier in the year due to my issues w menstruation and the usual sickness like flu cough etc.. Now, ever since I was pregnant from End July to date, I've been on 7 unpaid leaves as my pregnancy symptoms are really extreme and bad (nausea, vomitting, headaches, weakness, body aches, dizzy, trembles, shakeyness). To the point ive barely left home, amd if I do within 1 hour 2 i have to go home as my body doesnt feel right. Plus, my job involves caring for moderate to high special needs children. Which is physically demanding.. Help.. Ive been feeling so guilty for not working, taking all these leaves.. My next hosp appt is 25 Aug.. Any advice mummies? 2023-08-16Hi mummies! Have yall experienced your baby’s sudden refusal of milk, whether from the milk bottle or sippy cup? My LO (1yo) started rejecting milk at all forms… tried switching from milk bottle to sippy cup to straw cup, he just doesn’t want any at all. 2023-08-16Hi mummies Can anyone share on tip how to heal the c sect faster & how to cope with baby n house chores? I had my emergency c sect last week, apparently the wound is still sting on and off. I do take my painkillers I have no confinement nanny hence i have to do everything myself. Is that why i still feel pain on my wound? If anyone had done c sect and take care baby and house chores on your own, please let me know any tips? Another stress to add is not very sure if i should pump every 3 hours. My breast sometimes will feel very full but once bb latch then it goes back to normal, but i cant measure how much LO drink hence i prefer to pump. Get on and off bed still difficult for me as well, but once bb cry i have no choice but to rush it😮‍💨 Please let me know how you guys cope!! Thanks in advance

I have tried so many brands like pigeon and etc from kiddy palace, but nothing works for my toddler. Also, my toddler doesn't like to drink plain water. 2023-08-16People shamed me because I decided to let my LO sleep in different room at 8months old. He don’t have problem fall asleep in his own. I decided to switch room for him because me and husband SNORE. And causing him to wake up and cry for pacifier 3/4 times per night. Eventually causing me to waking up and to the extent of effecting my mental health. 1 night, I don’t realise that I pick him up and co sleeping. I only realised that he already beside me. Its so dangerous. They keep saying my baby to small to be abandoned in different room. Keep saying will SIDS cause less than 1 years old to sleep different room. Its hard enough to let my LO sleep different room and now to be call out bad mom. Why nobody call my husband bad dad then? 🙄

I started spotting and having slightly heavier bleeding for the past 2 days, it is now lighter and comes on and off. But my pregnancy test line have been getting darker. Have anyone experienced this? Does it turn out okay? I have had an early term miscarriage earlier this year, but this time round the amount of blood is much lesser and I dont have the intense cramp that I experienced previously. 2023-08-17My baby is just 1 month and 15 days. And I’ve pumping and breastfeeding her so far. Mostly is pumping. But everytime after nursing or pumping I’ll find myself indulging in chocolate. I read in some articles saying eating chocolate during breastfeeding is a no-no. But the urge is so bad. Sometimes i cant go to sleep cos i keep thinking about it. It doesnt hurt, just feel like a pressure like can feel baby is heavy. And last check, baby is head down & at 2.7kg. Its normal to feel this right ? 2023-08-1734 weeks now. Stomach always feel bloated. Feel like burping all the time. Alot of times when I burp, my food or gastric juices will come out at the same time. It always burns my throat and I feel terrible. It sometimes cause me to vomit due to the pain. Taking famotidine but this still happens. 😭😭😭Can't eat much food nowadays. 2023-08-18Hi moms, Is it normal for my 14 month old son to want to go out to play at the playground everyday? He even wants to stay outside all day if he could as he would always cry and be cranky when we go home or when we're at home (I would always bring him out for 2 hours on average every morning). I'm a stay at home mom and I take care of him fully and it's driving me insane that I hv to go out every single day. He doesn't want to play with his toys and gets bored easily. I also don't give him screen time as he will occasionally get it when we are with family. Any suggestions?
2023-08-18My girl is 1 month old. She is 5kg and drinks FM 110ml currently. Every 2 to 3 hours. Confinement nanny says we must feed her on schedule(every 3 hours) so we don't over feed her. But the thing is she cries and fusses every 1 and a half to 2 hours demanding to be fed. Should I increase the volume of FM or just follow nanny advice and let my baby wait for 3 hours to be fed? 2023-08-18Ever since im pregnant and now at 9 months with a VISIBLY HUGE ASS bump, still working, i always have to stand in the bus, not a single person care to give me seat. They will just act like theyre dying or they will just give me that look. Ya understand everybody is tired and wants to seat, but it wont kill you if youre healthy, be it young or old, to give a seat to a VERY pregnant lady. It always frustrates me so much. Esp when bus drivers like to jam break or keep braking and you always need to stand in the bus. And you baby’s life is like depending on your strength to hold the pole firmly. Some likes to seat at the outer side of the seat with no one at window seat, and still dont bother to make way or give the seat. #FTM

2023-08-18My baby had a vaccination, then a fall and was discharged from KKH recently after the fever and vomiting subsided. So all was good. But once at home her appetite dropped and there was mucus in her pooo. The colour changed from the usual breastfeeding mustard yellow to watery yellow and light green! Now she's sleeping more than usual and occasionally throws up. Is this a stomach flu? Or remnants of a vaccination? Do i go back to the hospital or just peads clinic? Help...

2023-08-18I have a 2.5 month old. He was taking the bottle from week 1 as he was not latching well, so I was giving him EBM in a bottle. When he was 1.5 months old he fell sick and so I latched him directly as I heard the antibodies will help him. However after this, he has refused the bottle completely and will cry and gag when we give him a bottle. He will only want direct latching. I have tried other bottle brands, I’ve tried having someone else feed him while I’m in another room, I’ve tried nipple shields. But no progress. I am starting work soon and will need to send him to IFC. I don’t know what to do as the IFC informed they only bottle feed and wont feed the baby through syringe/cup feeding. Please help!!
2023-08-18Im currently in 3rd trim, almost gg to 9 months. Do your baby ever give you a scare. Sometimes they’re already very active in the morning moving non stop and sometimes theyre just awfully quiet for few hours that it scared the heck out of it that you already plan to go to hospital to get it checked but then the next minute suddenly baby is doing acrobatic moves and kicking non stop (‘: Some say by now we would already know our baby’s active hours, but uptil now i still dont know. Unless at night when going to sleep, thats when baby is always moving. But during the day there are days when baby is always active from morning bt there are days when baby take some time to be active , like 11am onwards. And yes sometimes i would purposely poke my tummy for baby to move when it gets too quiet then he’ll be angry and kick non stop😂 #FTM

Usually at night/morning, it’s not the hungry type of shaking but it’s like looking left and looking right but very quickly, wanted to ask if any other LO does the same too? 2023-08-18I gave birth 4 months ago and have been falling sick a number of times with sore throat, cold, fever. Usually recover in around 1 week’s time. 2 weeks later, fall sick again. 2023-08-18Hi, went for a growth scan and HC and AC are both at average and larger than average. However, femur length is -1.3SD. Asked my gynae about it and she said nothing to worry. 2023-08-18FTM. I have no menstruation cramp my whole life and so confused of what contraction is like. Today morning i woke up with my pantyliner stained of brown and red discharge. Earlier in the evening i felt like menstrual uncomfy with no pain. And had just wen to the toilet. Discoverd my pantiliner stained with dark brown discharge like those menses. And with lil blood coming out to the toilet bowl. And a small blood clot? Or idk what is that. Do i have to head to hospital?

2023-08-18My 2 year old sometimes wake up in the middle if the night,crying murder and throwing tantrums. Its like as if he has nightmares but he will show that he is is scared, angry, and kept crying. Nothing seems consolable. And it lasted for like 45minutes? 2023-08-19My baby is now 11 months old and I am currently pregnant about 2 months. My first checkup is this coming Monday. By calculation, I will have an infant and a toddler of about 18 months old next year. So that makes 2 kids under the age of 2. I am super nervous about this. 😂 Anybody here has experience with this situation and has any tips? I dont wanna overthink and make myself worry over nothing. Just cant shake that nervous feeling away. Haha.
