2023-06-26Im a ftm, just entered 3rd trim, will be having my baby in sept. Not a day goes by that i dont fear suddenly having a miscarriage. Since the day i got to know im pregnant till now, even when baby is active and kicking hard, i cant brush of the fear and overthinking of anytime we can have a miscarriage. So far all blood test, scans are fine. What are the chances of having a miscarriage in 3rd trim? Is it very slim ? 2023-06-26Help please My NIPT (Harmony test) has come back twice with "no results" from KKH. The tests were done on 10w5d and 13w4d. We are just so frustrated as we have been waiting so long to know whether everything is ok. The reason given is "quality error". Im not even sure what it means. The next step is amnio and we are not comfortable in doing that. FTS ultrasound shows all is well but the blood test shows high risk. Is there anywhere in Singapore where I can do NIPT test privately? Perhaps a lab or private clinic or something. Appreciate any advise. Thank you.

2023-06-26Dear mummies, feeling so down with my husband and mother in law. Does anyone else have a monster in law like me too? I’m 3 months postpartum. Being a mother and being pregnant has been a long time desire of mine. Unfortunately it was not a smooth sailing journey for me apart from the typical pregnancy sickness and tiredness. My husband is always prioritising other things apart from my child or me. He claims he loves us but he has always been busy with his games every single night. He doesn’t spend time with me or speaks to me. I’m a stay at home mom because I have to tc our child while my husband tc of the expenses. I have to sacrifice my career so I can tc of our child but my husband always criticise me for staying at home doing nothing and always fighting with me when he he goes to work and provides for us. My husband wasn’t the nicest person to me while I was pregnant. My husband was emotionally and physically abusive while I was pregnant and my mother in law was the cause of it. She was always creating problems for us. She even encouraged my husband to divorce me even though she knew I was pregnant. She used all kind of words on me while I was pregnant telling me to die and my husband did not even question her on why she spoke in such manner. I have even told my husband multiple times that I want a divorce because I couldn’t handle the stress but he refuses to give me a divorce because he claims he does not want his child to go through what he went through as a kid bcos his parents are divorced. Prob is his mum, she left him at a young age and came back to his life like nothing and my husband is being hugely influenced by her. She has never been a good model to my husband. My husband and I always have conflicts bcos of my mother in law. She always says things that upset me and when I talk about it to my husband, he immediately calls her and ask without knowing how to handle the situation well and she brainwashed him into thinking I’m the problem. She has tried so many ways to make my husband leave me even before we got married. But my husband doesn’t want to leave me till now. Now when my child is born, she is trying to act like a good person. She is sharing my child’s photos to everyone without my permission. And ppl whom I have never met in life are uploading my child’s pictures on their social media. She is always telling us to wear the clothes she buys for my child and take picture and send her. The best part of it all is none of it is from her pocket. She is using her second husband’s money while she is unemployed and brags about spending money on my child like I didn’t ask for it. She has the tendency to brag a lot. My husband doesn’t even question her for her wrong doings. Moreover he is alwyas glued to his phone and games. Even when we head out once in awhile, he will still be glued to his phone instead of spending time with me. I really wish I had never met him and go through so much in my life. What I shared is just 10 percent of what I’m going through. I really do not know what to do being stuck in a hopeless situation.

2023-06-27My LO needs to take her 18 months immunisation, but she's having a slight cough, and her fever comes and goes. 2023-06-27FTM here, i have yet to deliver. Ive bought both manual (medela) and electric wearable breastpump. However am still not exactly sure the right way to use it. I read its advisable to use the Massage mode first to stimulate milk or a let down then followed by expression mode. However in the situation whereby we need to pump at office or outside, when using massage mode first, how do we know theres already a let down ? Since we wont really be able to see the cup from top view as its covered by the motor. Will we feel milk coming out or something ? Sorry if its a stupid question. #FTM
2023-06-27Hi expert mummies, My baby weight now is 4.9kg and her milk consumption is about 550-650ml a day. Every 3-4 hrs she can only finish about 60-90ml. Should I be worry? I already went to see Dr to ask about it but Dr said she’s healthy and gaining weight. My baby is formula fed since birth. I can only pump 30-40ml of breast milk a day (not enough breast milk) Another unique behaviour of my baby is when we try to put her to the cot she will start to wake up. She preferred to be carried/held. During day time her sleep is interrupted cos of this. Luckily her night time sleeps a stretch of 5-6hrs. My problem only is day time. She’s heavy and cannot always carry her while she sleeps.

2023-06-28Hello mummies, I would like to hear your opinions. I am a FTM and prior to this i was working full time. I came back from my maternity leave in March and served my notice period and left work end April this year. I was very sure that i wanted to be a SAHM until my girl turns 18 months or earliest until she turns 1 so i am able to watch her milestones before sending her to school. Currently my girl is 7 months + and i have been offered a part time job, 3 days work week 8:30am to 6pm on weekdays only (Mon, Tues, Fri) for 6 months. I am in a dilemma as i'm not 100% sure if i should take up this part time role now or should i wait at least until my girl turns 1. I have my own personal development in mind but at the same time i also feel guilty of leaving my child for work. My concern is that will it be difficult to find a job if i go back to workforce later on with 6mnths to a year gap in my career? Financial wise is not an issue as my hubby is supportive to whichever decision i make. I do have arrangement for my child to be taken care as well if i were to go back to work.

2023-06-30My Child has stop drinking formula for 2 years and recently with the addition of a new baby he seems to start wanting to drink formula again. As such we have sample from both Abbott Grow and Dumex Dugro and both he drinks fine. Therefore now we are thinking of buying a tin but is unsure of which of this brand is better. Does anyone have suggestion which is better?
2023-06-30I understand that baby grew up fast and its best to buy bigger size. But my MIL is insisting to buy newborn size and despite being told of my concern on baby size and fast growth she insist to have 12pcs of tie front newborn size so that baby will be comfy. I do not want to disrespect so ill do as she say while purchasing some bigger size to standby. but im confused to buy 52cm or 59cm newborn clothes as 0-3months is considered big to her too. #advicepls

2023-06-30I am a SAHM. But i am going through something. I need someone to talk to but i do not have anybody. No friends, sisters, family members. i suffer from extremely bad anxiety that i have super super short nails. Also one reason why i have no friends. They always make me feel like not a friend always asking me eewww why ur nail so short and ugly. I recently starts looking for a job. And today i got one call for job. But now im dilemma. I just started to make it a point to do my 5 times prayers. Just recently i feel i want to be a better muslim. But if i go to work, i may not be able to perform my prayers on time and also if i have to wear fake nails so people wont be disgusted, i will take very long to get ready each time i pray. So if you were me, would you look after something that is religious like find another job that is flexible or just work and pay back my prayer?

But my boss insist I should go in to office 1 to 2 times a week despite having the letter.. Anyone else having preeclampsia and continued working? I notice my BP is always high always at work.

2023-06-30Currently 39 weeks 2 days. My last check up was a week ago and the doctor was saying I’m alr 2cm dilated and even did a membrane sweep for me. She said I probably will go into labour these few days but til now my water bag has yet to burst. My mucus plug has alr come out 1-2 days after my membrane sweep too. My next check up will be in 3 days. Not sure if I can ask the doctor whether it is possible to induce labour? Isit possible? I’m a subsidised patient with NUH, don’t have a gynae I am with. Is induction of labour rly more pain compared to waiting for waterbag to burst? And normally 2cm dilated by now….. shouldn’t there be some sort of progression…. More dilation. especially with the membrane sweep done #firsttimemom

And do you guys stay with 3 day rule before introducing new food? I read that new studies says not a need for 3 day rule since allergy happens within 2 hours of eating an allergic food? 2023-06-30Hi, gave birth on may and i realised my skin has been extremely dry, face mainly. Use more moisturizer but doesnt seems to work. Not sure if its the effects of epidural or just hormones changes. Anyone else facing the same thing and what did you do to help with the dryness?

2023-06-30Some days i feel why my belly tighten the whole day. Some day is only at night. I not sure why is that so? My gynae just say it is normal. I dont feel any pain when the belly is tightening but i feel super extremely heavy which makes me walk like penguin hence i dont go out at night anymore due to the heaviness.

In 2nd trimester its more to kicks, but now in 3rd trim i realised baby’s movement/changing positions is alot more than his kicks. There is still kicks every now and then still. 2023-07-01Hi mummies! Would like to get some advice… my 2 months bb will be turning 3 months soon. Her nap times nowadays have been very short, at most 30 mins… what can I do to increase her nap time? It’s so frustrating sometimes because she nap so little… she used to be able to sleep 2-3 hours. However, she has been sleeping well at night though, we usually put her to bed at around 7.30pm-8pm and will wake up at 7am or so with feeds in between the night. Any advice? :’)#FTM #pleasehelp

This time Im not sure should I take milk or not. Sometimes in morning or at night the hungy strikes so a cup of warm milk does help. Right now I'm taking organic soymilk powder.
